Three Bilboards outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) 8/10.

Wow. I don't even know where to start. One of the most fascinating, riveting movies I've ever seen. Everything clicks, from the writing, casting and acting to the directing and the editing.

I loved it. I laughed out loud and winced and gasped and silently mouthed, "Holy S..." too many times to count. Not everyone will like it, but I am willing to bet that if you like it you won't just like it - you'll love it.

Quaid giving birth destroyed my adolescent innocence.

Enemy Mine is pretty good. I've never seen Alien Nation... is it any good?

Its a bit low rent at points but is is a good Sci Fi Cop Drama.

And of course James Caan is awesome in it.

A Ghost Story.

Loved it.

Happy Death Day
6/10

A slasher horror movie with a time loop could be great, not the best 1 for this genre horror movie.
This is a decent horror movie that underachieves because it could have been great.

Ir lost points for avoidable mistakes which is why it isn't a great horror slasher movie with the repeating day groundhogs day style when Theresa is killed.

Cons
This should have been Rated R not PG 13.
Most deaths are short, and blood isn't shown even when a character is shot.
It's never explained why Theresa is stuck in a time loop that restarts after she dies.
Unfunny stuff that is completely unneccesary that is cringeworthy because Theresa inside a restaurant farts and burps.

Flimsy twist in the climax.
It's something no doubt they decided late in the movie which no doubt be why 0 scenes shown that would imply or shows clues for a twist.
Also it's implausible that Theresa when writing down persons that could be the murderer never thinks of her roommate.

Pros
It's intentional that Theresa is a unlikable character including having a affair with a married man her teacher.
It's revealed she hasn't been able to deal with her mother after she died which is plausible that she would be self centered, dismissive, and condescending.
She's still a unlikable character you understand, and a believable unlikable character.

She uses trial and error to find out what person is the murderer which is a decent mystery.
Character Development: Theresa says to Carter the worst thing about reliving the same day is seeing she isn't a good person.
Carter gives her encouraging words it's never to late to change and she uses that because she talks to her Dad to resolve her inner grief, ends her affair with Doctor Butler, etc.
It's her righting the multiple wrongs she has caused so she changes and becomes a likable character.
Great to watch a feature horror movie that has likable characters because horror movies having no likable characters or mostly no likable characters is 1 of the main problems for most horror movies for several years.

She also intentionally killed herself because John Tombs a serial killer murdered Carter so she put someone before herself.
It is implied she doesn't have unlimited lives because retaining damage from other times she was killed.

Carter is a likable character after being informed of the repeating day amd the murderer that she should write down persons that could be the murderer.
Also he did move her to a bed because of a drunken binge, and didn't take advantage of her.
A decent climax with Theresa having to fight Lori her roommate a.d winning by kicking her out a window and she dies.

She comments her situation is a lot like Groundhogs Day a comedy movie no doubt the main inspiration.

Also terrific is the ending isn't a jumpscare which is predictable unoriginal uncreative and overdone for Horror movies.

Shawshank Redemption: great as always.

The Shape of Water. Pretty good - 8/10, IMO.

Ahh the 70's/ When a Animated PG Movie wasn't anything like Modern PG is.

The GodFather and I shut if off after 25 minutes.

Resident Evil: Vendetta

Bloody Murder on a Youtube stream.

Baywatch. Ridiculously stupid, but stupidly entertaining.

Nice going, Bruce. You're not hating on the film and supporting it with your dollars. I think I'm going to see it one last time this week before it arrives digitally.
