The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
Very impressive and ambitious storytelling. The film takes a couple big shifts, but still manages to make it come back together quite well. Really good. And of course Ryan Gosling delivers another unbelievably wooden performance surprising as that may be. I was actually surprised how good Eva Mendes was in it. After seeing her in Ghost Rider I figured she was a crap actress, ha, but she's great in this. And hot AF.

Probably gonna go see it at the cheap theater...
Oh, I watched Death Wish (2018). Is it a good movie? No. Is it entertaining? Yes.
Eli Roth's generic editing with AC/DC's Back in Black not once, mind you, but TWICE, was fucking inane, but the movie is still enjoyable, thanks to D'Onofrio and Willis. And at least Eli Roth doesn't use shaky cam, so that's a plus in his favor.
Jaws.
Why, why, can someone please tell me WHY Hooper survived?
He died in the novel. We were all glad he died in the novel. If you're gonna have one of them survive, it should have been Quint.
But that's probably the point, Quint is a real man, while Hooper is a self insertion character for the nerd that wrote the script for film. Of COURSE the beta male will survive, while the alpha dog gets eaten alive.
Quint 4 life.
