Captain Marvel

theater: Captain Marvel

Saw a whole bunch of films while I was at San Francisco. In approximate order:

CAM 7/10
Alita: Battle Angel 9/10
Glass 4/10
Bladerunner 2047 9/10
Captain Marvel 6.5/10
1922 10/10
Hereditary 9/10

Aquaman (2018)

And man was it ridiculous and silly, but somehow didn't know that it was ridiculous and silly. It definitely needed to be more self-aware, but those visuals, goddamn. It has to be one of the most expensive movies ever. It looked like it.

Captain Marvel.

Resident Evil (2002)

It was actually a slightly better movie than I remembered, but the air ventilation being connected to the rest of the facility is still the stupidest thing ever, and the CGI at the end does not hold up at all. It also borrowed some stuff from Cube (1997), which is a very cool movie that I haven't seen in a long time.

Captain Marvel.

Great m8. I rate 8/8.

Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel - II. Lost Butterfly

What a mouthful of a title. lol

Spoiler:
Loved seeing Gilgamesh get creamed.

Overlord 6.5/10
Slaughterhouse Rulez 4/10

Leaving Neverland
Winter Soldier
Triple Frontier

Alpha (2018)

8/10 ish. Really liked it. Just found out after the fact that it was directed by one of the Hughes brothers, of Book of Eli and From Hell fame. That explains why it was so well done.

Turn it up, Charlie. Very well done Netflix series. I do hope to get a season 2.

The "GOUT" version of Empire Strikes Back (Fan name for the "unaltered" versions of the movies offered as bonus features, that were merely horrible looking laserdisc dumps.)

Bayformers 1. The only movie in the series, that is actually pretty enjoyable.

Shazam.

There was an early screening here in the US this past Saturday.

Game Night (2018)

Not the typical movie I like to watch, but I admit it was amusing. I laughed quite a lot.

I just saw Dumbo and loved it. It has way more heart than the other Disney remakes except for maybe The Jungle Book.

^ I want to see that at some point, Dumbo. I enjoy reading the little kids story to my son.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)

Hadn't seen it before, liked it, I often don't like these sequels to animated hits much, but this one was pretty good.

Life of Pi (2012)

Seen it 1 or 2 times before, still liked it. It's a weird artsy film, but charming and insightful. Damn that tiger still looks spectacular.
