Last Movie You Saw? (Theater/Home)

Started by juggerman695 pages

Currently watching the X-Men franchise with my kids. Just watched DoFP and we had a blast. It was fun to watch my 11 year old daughter go from "Magneto is such a jerk, only some humans are bad" to a complete 180 of "Humans suck! Magneto was right. I'm in the Brotherhood now!" 😆 😆

THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET

Getting on a Don Knotts kick!

THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN

This one had one of the Dicks from Bewitched in a supporting role!

THE SHAKIEST GUN IN THE WEST

Frikkin’ funny af!
On the “hey I know that guy” front, we have Jackie Coogan of Charlie Chaplin and Addams Family fame, and Mr. Miyagi himself, Pat Morita!

The Thing (1982) and The Thing (2011) installment. It's a good creepy horror film.

Star Wars: A New Hope (Theatrical) - Still ****ing amazing.

blade of the immortal

arrival

CHICKEN LITTLE

Don Knotts as Turkey Lurkey. He was awesome.

Joker.

Second time seeing it, and I'm wondering if the entire movie was in his head. Every bit of it, except maybe the part where he's in handcuffs at the institution.

I don't think so. I think the only hallucinations were of kissing the girl and her being by his side and such.

Sleepy Hollow 7/10

One of my favorite Burton films. Its visually stunning with gorgeous misty forests, true to detail settings, and Depp actually putting on a solid performance. The sets have held up and the Horse/portal scenes hold up well. The CG can be rough and the expository dialogue kind of weights towards the final act, but it holds up well to this day as a film imo

Underwater 8/10

Saw it for a second time, my only real complaint with it now is that its useless to watch on DVD. Maybe it'd be better on higher fidelity screens but the murky sea floor scenes are too indecipherable to see on DVD.

You're way behind the times if you haven't upgraded to Blu-ray or 4k. Sir.

I have plenty of Blu ray discs
I just rented it on DVD and saw it at my grandparents which is my fault
The monster scenes would be amazing on 4K

Joker

10/10

Proximity. 6/10.

FANTASY ISLAND

I dug it! It turned out not to be what it seemed at all, which was how most of the fantasies on the show played out.
Plus we got some origin stories which were both pretty cool.

Over the last few days re-watched...

Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)

So fu#king good. I appreciated War much more the second time. I used to think Dawn was my favorite of the three and I still think it is, but damn the whole trilogy is just spectacular.

Careful, that film might turn you into a filthy Liberal if you're not careful.

This was a really enjoyable trilogy. I don’t ever see it discussed, which is a shame.

FERDINAND

The story was predictable, but still managed to be fairly fun, w. some good voice acting.
Cena and Kate McKinnon had nice chemistry. I can imagine it carrying over into some mind blowing RL sex.
