Is the music or the lyrics in a song more important?

the music or the lyrics

I was curious of people's opinions on whether the music or the lyrics is more important in a song. So, discuss it here.

i would thbink its the music thats most importent now adays its not what you say its how you say it

I'd say both. . .

eg. Franco Un-American by NOFX i like for the lyrics
Master of Puppets by Metallica I like for the music.

its definately both for me....most of the bands i listen to wouldnt be the same without both their lyrics and music

no because there is alot of meaning in those lyrics too, its all about everyone being like a puppet and having someone pulling their strings, like your not in control of yourself, those are very poiniant, meaningful lyrics

I tend to listen to the guitar bits more, but the lyrics are important too

i couldnt pick one or the other 😬

Wow that's strange because MAster of Puppets is possibly one of the most lyrically captivating songs.

thats what i was saying...but the music is also a strong aspect of the song, the interlude is a work of art so thats why im saying that both are as important as one another.

Depends on artist.

Both, for sure.
