USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE II (LIGHT SIDE)- Arms Race

Lets go up the elevator

Gentle music plays in this lush elevator as it takes you all the way to the top.

When the doors open, the lift music stops- but behind the Master Control Room door that lies beyond after a short corridor, you can hear the louder sound of the final movement of a piece of classical movement.

"Come on, Master..." Xeth beckons, holding a switched-off lightsaber aloft.

(Any chance of Xeth sneaking in? Or shall I be blunt?)

Door is locked.

(Slicy, slicy)

(do we have to stay on the bridge?)

(Well, we are essentially unconsience...)

Can Xeth hotwire it with Fix-It?

If not, Xeth activates his lightsaber and drives it into the door to begin cutting away.

It would take too long. Cutting through pleases you far more.

In twenty seconds the job is done, and you break into Master Control.

This room is large, well lit, and circular, and reminiscent of the Architect's room from the Matrix. There is a huge bank of monitor screens- looking over every single facet of the battle you just fought, from your opening approach, to the first fight on the plateau, to the parts of the base you fought through, and other parts you never went to, and then the bridge, and the fort, and even this room.

And in front of all that, in a black chair, sits Ryamore, facing towards the door, a blaster covering the two of you.

~Didn't someone predict this? 😛~

Xeth holds his lightsaber up defensively.

"Ryamore!" Xeth says with a scowl, grinding his teeth together in both mouths and making a few agitated natural clicking noises.

"Carlan Ryamore, you fool..."

(What does he look like?)

Jelena begins to reply to Gallagher to notify that she would survive, but notices a wave of droids approaching.

"Don't...move..." she says, especially to the injured Padawans, Vilpa and Sunda. She pitied that they had been forced into such a conflict, as she had never been.

"Carlan Ryamore, you fool..."

(What does he look like?)

He's well-dressed, clean shaven, very smart.

And as the violins swell towards their final climax, the gun drops out of his hand.

Immediately, Xeth uses the Force to send it flying across the room, into a screen.

"We meet at last..." he says, keeping his blade up despite the fact that Ryamore is unarmed. "Shut down the droids..."

There is no answer. Your pulse races- you aren't sensing his mind.

As the dynamic chords play, you run across the room to his chair, and spy the slight wisp still remaining from the shot that has blown his head out. And then, as he falls out of the chair, you spy the main computer readout behind him

Transmission complete.

System delete 97%... 98%... 99%... 100%.

Delete completed. System shutdown.

And every single monitor bank goes blank, the music ends... and everything cuts out.

The anger at this man that had filled Xeth suddenly leaves his mind; rather, he is at a loss.

He drops his lightsaber, the blade burning into the ground before switching off. Xeth fell to his knees.

"No...it...it wasn't...supposed to end like this...I..." Xeth stutters. "AGH!"

With that scream, he extends a hand towards the blank monitors, shattering them.

Then, regaining his composure, Xeth snatches up his lightsaber bitterly.

"And so...ends...my...case..." Xeth spits out the words. He had thought he would be joyous and victorious upon bringing Carlan Ryamore to justice...

Something is wrong, Xeth. Very wrong.

Why would he do this? Abscond with an army and wait for the Jedi to arrive? Wait...

That gunshot. He didn't do it when you were breaking in, you would have heard it. And the faint sizzle means time has passed... the wound is not fresh.

Xeth- Ryamore shot himself... it must have been.. 30 minutes ago? Before the fight started?

"Strategic prognosis?"

"The offensive capacity of their ships is not considerable. The Jedi will make a surface landing and attempt to gain entry on foot."

Ryamore smiles, and brings up a control console, a diagram on it in the shape of a battle droid. With one hand, he produces a blaster.

"Let them come," he says... and he presses the activation button.

The droid army below started to wink into life.

"Standard security procedure."

"Confirmed," said the computer.

"Thankyou. Computer, intiate programme Terminal. Transmit and delete when the Jedi reach the bridge."

"Confirmed. It has been a pleasure working with you, Director."

"Likewise," said Ryamore, turning his chair to face the door. He spent a short amount of time listening to the music, and then placed the gun to his head.

"Long live the New Order."

And then a shot.

The system delete is total. There is no evidence, nothing. And he transmitted to someone. He was NOT working alone!

But that's it. The trail has ended- here.

Xeth crouches next to Ryamore's body, a bitter contempt for the man still present in his mind despite having never met him. Slowly, he lifted the dead body and placed him upon his chair; a thrown fit for a madman.

Shaking his head miserably, Xeth stands and tries to find a way to look outside to see if the droids are deactivated.

"Well...I suppose we are victorious, then," he mutters. "We...we should report to the Council...no, you report to the Council. I'll report to Taloraan. Personally."

damn!
Damn you Ush!
you said it wouldn't be like Zetion
I'm never believing you again!

Can Gallagher see if the droids have dropped?
