Looking into that, you do find this. Legend has it that Siva created a duplicate of the tablet, which he swapped with the one he stole so as to deceive the Sith about the theft. He got a hunk of rare mineral rock hacked out to look the part. But the big problem was the way that the writing on the tablets only appears when a force sensitive touches its back. Siva had the back of the fake coated with a substance that biologically reacted to the proximity of midi-chlorians, and that triggered a luminiscent appearance of the letters he had faked on the front. It wasn't perfect but he didn't need it to be.
Now, say these fakes in the vault are made on the same principle... you reckon it wouldn't be as efficient as the Sith original, so the writing would be slower to appear if you looked for it. That's no good though, the trap activates on touch. Still, that is a decisive difference between original and fake.
