If a forum member died...you'd never know

If one of us [God forbid] died, tha only thing everyone would notice is their absense. we could think they got tired of this forum or is on a vacation.we wouldn't question too far...i sadly wonder if anyone that has stopped posting has passed away..

Any thoughts?

I've actually left instructions to post a "BGK is dead... NO< REALLY!!!!" thread in the OTF..... and a "sorry, now I'm dead there'll be no more Harry Potter Books " thread in the harry Potter forum...

hmm well I think quite a few of the regular (or veteran) members here know a few people in here in real life aswell so I assume that word of them dieing would reach this place.

Then again a lot of others would indeed never be heard of again. unless someone made an effort

Dont think it would make a difference if they died or just stopped coming on the forums anymore unless someone liked that member than they'd be more sad about it if they didnt know them in real life but were just attached to them over the internet. cause we wouldnt kniow if that member has died or just got tired coming here..

Since most people dont know each other here (personally), nobody really gives a sh*t 😬

Its pretty sad, though; if you made friends with someone here, and that person suddenly stopped showing up, then you can never hear from him/her again, never really knowing what happened 🙁.

theres also just so many memebrs here that i dont think a lot of people even could name that many members.. ive been around here for several years and theres lots of names i dont recognize all the time

Well...I know a few members who come here, so if I were to die, or vice versa, some members would know...but would it be worth saying?

Yeah, more people would assume that person got tired of this forum/stopped caring/went on a vacation/etc. but its really sad and freaky if you're reading someones old posts from a thread..its almost like they're alive since their whole forum presence [reactions/words..personality] is saved in old threads. very sad indeed.

A lot of members who come here are way too obsessed with KMC, so would probably post a "goodbye" thread if they ever decided to leave 😬

And if they died, they probably wouldn't get the chance 😐

We were talking about this a long ass time ago... Back when Jithra (aka bloomalicious aka... Anoushka?) was here...

...I had this very same thought a few months back. I shared this thought with my friends here and they all got freaked out. I spent the last half hour trying to find it, but the thread I posted it in is huge.

I too have a "if I've died please post such thread's in these Forums with specific text.

it's really sad, but you have to be prepared. ever since my friend died 3 years ago I've had a different outlook on my own mortality.

I have friends in real life that come on here, so if anything were to happen, they'd know who to tell.

Of course, I'm very much hoping that nothing does happen...
