ahh the old file in the cake trick, the police never see it coming. When I get arrested I generally prefer to use the sunlight to set my clothes on fire, then when they go to put it out, I nick their keys, set a few men free (to distract the other police, and its fun!) and then i run for it......

Cable should be playable for all the versions. I mean, I'm not even sure I'd play a game with Apocalypse as the main enemy, without Cable.
