well intended spam??

no not spam! excuse me thati want to start a conversation about a movie that has truly vexed me since its inception. i have very valid reasons for not wanting to post in the old thread about it. for one thing no one ever reads old threads, not even if there are new posts, at least not in forums that i visit. that thread was pretty much dead and not even on the same topic as the conversation i had in mind, but still you want me to talk about this there? i was a new member here and i wanted someone to talk to me about something in a thread of my own but oh well. people in forums are always so mean and it really doesnt matter which forums they are unless you have been a member there for years. i give up on forums and message boards...

I'm going to laugh when you're banned, moron.

...

thank you for proving my point about how rude people on message boards are to new people. as if i had any question left in my mind about that.

whats your point ?

Well, it depends.

First of all, this should really go into another forum, not the DVD Talk forum.

A thread about a movie, use the old thread. People will respond. It's better than crowding the boards with 20 different threads on the same movie.

However, I've seen people get a little testy when you revive a thread on a particular discussion such as that "50 Reasons to Hate the Matrix" in The Matrix forum.

wolfie, i see that you are reasonable and understanding, quite a new encounter for me in a forum. yes i agree that this should go in a different forum but because this is the forum in which my original (now locked) post occured, i felt justified in posting this thread in this forum also. and yes i have seen people on most boards get very testy when reviving a thread, especially if the thread has been dead for a number of days or if the message you post doesnt fit in with where the conversation has progressed to. in the case of the previous avp thread, those in that thread were not even discussing avp anymore, so what exactly is the point in reviving a discussion when that is not the discussion i am interested in. i have not flooded the boards, i posted one message, hoping to incite conversation not hatred or holier than thou attitudes towards me because i didnt post it where everyone else thinks it was appropriate.

It was technically spam, as you were promoting a website you obviously have a vested interest and participation in. DVD threads for DVD's that have yet to be released are naturally going to be slow to accumulate posts. Can't talk about it if nobody owns it, you know?

I apologize if you found my actions mean, but I have guidelines by which you and I must abide. I ask that anyone interested in the "AVP" DVD please continue the discussion in the designated thread.
