It seems that Jared Leto was in a particularly pissy mood last night at the 2006 MTVU Woodie Awards in New York City. Not only did he go apeshit on music blogger Scott Stereogum for having the audacity to ask him a simple question (ie. why he hates blogs) but, according to Pink reader Timothy, Mr. Leto also unleashed his aggression on the very harmless Elijah Wood ... here's what went down according to my boy Timothy:

Last night I went to the MTV U Woodie Awards and luckily I scored a spot in one of the "common folk" pens right near the celebrity tables. So the entire night I am ten feet from Elijah Wood ... also in attendance was Jared Leto with his band 30 Seconds to Mars. The show went as expected -- bands played, bands I never heard of won awards etc. As the show was winding down and TV On The Radio was performing Jared Leto was working the tables, saying Hey. He then comes over to Elijah's table. I'm like "Oh my god, they are totes gonna make out." Jared puts his arm on the hobbit's back and starts whispering stuff in his ear and and occasionally pulling back to look him in the face. Jared then walks away and Elijah turns to his date for the evening friends and says something. Well something about this must have pissed Jared off because he comes running back to the table, grabs Elijah by the neck and starts screaming at him. All I could catch was Jared calling him a "****ing *******". He then shoves Elijah and storms off. Bodygaurds come up and Elijah assures everyone he's fine.

Jared Leto comes over and starts whispering stuff into Elijah's ear. He pulled away and I heard him say something along the lines of "you said things about my brother and my band." He walked away but looked like he was ready to rumble.

Yeah I heard Jared almost beat Elijah up...wtf is Jared's problem ?

maybe he thinks its cool to be angry... sigh... who knows... why would anyone beat up frodo

I've been watching him since My So Called Life. 🙂 He is a decent actor. His role in Prefontaine was great.

has anyone seen 30 seconds to mars play? i saw them on warped tour this summer - people were going nuts and i saw a ton of people with 30 seconds to mars tattoos - CRAZY.

I heard he dated Lindsay Lohan, he gets man points for that in my eyes.

His band is good, he was good in lords of war.

Jared Leto is like 9 lbs, he looks like a starving AIDS sufferer. Elijah would rip him apart. I wish I could have seen that, must be hilarious to see someone as harmless as Leto trying to be intimidating, with his gay eyeshadow and queer hair.

Gah, I love Jared Leto. It's not that often that you get someone who can act AND sing well.

I heard about the whole Jared/Elijah thing, too. Jared has issues. Ha.

I almost got to see his band play a few weeks ago, but I didn't have a way to get to the show. Eh.

I haven't seen any pictures of him lately, of him being ultra-skinny or anything. Does anyone have any pictures of him now?

I love Jared, especially as a singer. Damn he´s so hot.
