Yes, it was just a harmless costume, but since he is a prince, he should have thought about it more seriously
Theres nothing wrong with wearing a hitler costume to a cotume party I dress as charles manson ounce and nobody complained
The thing here is that as a member of the royal family Harry is supposed to represent the ideal brit or at least represent himself with the level of class and common sense that would reflect well on his kingdom. The royal family is pretty much only a figurehead for great Britain, and yet they can't even do that. (I'm not a particular fan of the royal family myself)
Their jobs aren't hard, represent the people, do good for others and don't look like a complete f*ck*n idiot in the process.
To all of you who do not think it's a big deal at all, please remember that there are still alot of people (from Britain and other commonwealth countries) who fought against the nazis and had members of their family killed during that war. It really wasn't that long ago. My grandfather lost 6 brothers and it forever changed his outlook on life. To think that a person who experienced anything like that opens up a paper and sees that sod wearing a swastika, well, I understand how they would be upset.
For those of you who dress up like that for costume parties, or whatever and think it's no big deal, well, the families of over 6 million Jews would beg to differ.

I agree with the majority of your post in that there are masses of people who would have been shocked and appalled at the behaviour of one of our princes, but with regard to him being a figurehead for society who perhaps 'should have known better', well, I feel a great deal of sympathy for him 😬 Who are you to judge whether his actions are right or wrong, or to say that he has an easy job? Are you in his shoes? Is your life under constant surveillance? Nope. Until you've lived a day in his life, walked a mile in is shoes, you do not have the right to comment. Quit trying to be a representative for those who found his antics shocking... they won't thank you for it.
O FUNK THAT!
ITS A PARTY! YOU KNOW PARTY! SOMETHING THAT YOU GUYS PROBABLY NEVER HEARD OF!!!
Regarless of wether he was respresenting the royal family or not, it was a party with a themed fancy dress. Hes a teenager, people do stuff like this and the royal family are holding him back from trying to have a normal life. This thread is a big piece of bullcrap.
"Their jobs aren't hard, represent the people, do good for others and don't look like a complete f*ck*n idiot in the process."
It is hard to represent the people given the fact that it's a family representing many people and many families, all of which are different, some of which don't wanna be represented by an old crone and multiple other old crones. My family and I for one. Also, if anyone else besides me tries to represent me in ways that only I can represent myself, it's hard not to look like an idiot and if you manage not to, I'll certainly change that. Just a thought.

My grandfathers were in the war but they realise that it ended in 1945. It's funny how people that weren't even in the war still harbour resentment and even hatred toward Germany.
Do the families of 6 million Jews beg to differ? I think it's a bit presumptuous to speak for families of 6 million jews. People need to get over shit. Had it not been for the papers, you wouldn't have even known he wore it and there wouldn't even be a thread. It's only a big deal coz the press made it one and for no other reason than that. If in 2005 you are still bitter about what happened prior to 1945, you need to get a life. Some people have their loved ones murdered by muggers and while they don't necessarily get over it, they move on. Like everyone should with this "sick travesty" as it has come to be known.
