can someone recommend slow metal songs...progressive if you know any in the likes of Opeth - death whispered a lullaby.

Well, I don't actually listen to a lot of the newer metal bands. (I'm stuck in the past 🙁 ) But if you want a slow, beautiful metal song I recommend "A Toute La Monde" by Megadeth.

Try anything by the band Cathedral. They're slow and very heavy.
