Where have all the really scary movies gone?

It didnt work for "The Grudge" but it did for this film 🙂

I think J-Horror is overrated and formulaic.

Asian horror is fantastic, A Tale of Two Sisters for one. Big fan.

A great ghosty movie is a movie called the changling with george c scot, i dont think any movie has scared me really,made me jump from time to time but never really scared me but the changling made the hairs on my neck stand up so must be good 🙂

Now that I think of it one movie actually did make me scared. I just forget what it was called. (Bad memory. It was about a toothe fairy. And the dark. Thats all I remember. Maybe sombody hears knows what it is. And this other one. I also don't remember what is was called but a baby is witnessing murder and he always says "redrum" wich if u flip it around it is "murder" that one kind of scared me. But not like that toothe fairy one. I didn't like the dark after that.

Please dont tell me its "darkness falls" 🙁

"Darkness Falls" and "The Shining". Ohhhhhh, boy. Let the onslaught begin.

I saw the trailer for Boogeyman, it seemed creepy.

scary horror movies are still here sort of....its just that most of us are old enough not to get scared anymore

Then I guess it wuz Darkness Falls. But I was 11 when I saw it. I know that's not that long ago. But I was a chicken when I was 11. I thought the Haunting was scary. Now I am lucky if I find anything.

They never went anywhere, you just got old and cynical. when I was a kid everything scared me, even the likes of Ghoulies, just the cover of horror films used to terrify me, i 'd spend hours in the video shop just looking at the covers, terrified wondering what horrors lay inside.
