yes, aaliyah died shortly after post-production and before the movie was released in theathers, i believe. she died in a plane crash after shooting a music video in australia and before she left for me. she was only 22 and she had some much potential as an actress. so tragic that she died. aaliyah was great in 'romeo must die', also starring jet li.

yeah, i heard somewhere that she did shoot a few scenes for the second matrix movie but after she died, those scenes had to be deleted and replaced her with jada pinkett smith. sadly. aaliyah would've been great as niobi and could totally picture her as that character.

also, aaliyah was a good dancer and her music was decent. too bad she never got the chance to do edgier material...🙁
