Keep in mind that the Slayer Scythe is no ordinary weapon and has vast magical properties. Kitty is also a skilled martial artist.

Maybe. I needed something to even out Kitty's intangibility so I chose the Scythe.

buffy's fought ghosty things that can go intangible before so she wouldn't be overly shocked or worried in this fight, and she'd only have to connect once
