Star Wars has what amounts to a cult following, while King Kong does not. Kong, sad to say, is actually a better movie.

But, as you said (or as I read it) SW is a 12 hour movie, each Ep is dependant of the other 5 (at least that´s the way I see it). While KKong id anather thing, being complete as it is.
No comparisson is possible between a whole film (KK) and "part" of a film (say Ep 3).
Nevertheless this isn´t worth an argument. Both things are quite different.
