After I shut it down I cancelled the other domain. It's still open, but I got a new one so unwanteds wouldn't know it...plus it's shorter.

and as for the old one, its probably yours, unless they gave you a screwy deal where they actually own the domain that you picked out, but i never heard of that. all you would have to do is transfer it to your new provider.
