stippling. just taking a fine tip black pen and drawing with just dots. the zebras are done that way too

pointillism, as the article points out, was a technique of painting. solid color dots. similar to process printing today but done by hand.

art teachers need to stop calling simple stippling "pointillism".

my teacher doesn't, thats just what i always called it.
