you should both (to eliminate possibilities of whats wrong) plug your xbox directly to your modems. if it then works, one of you has a router issue. thats what i would do to start anyway.

Now I can hear when she leaves me a message, but she still cant hear me. And whenver I invite her, she gets a "failed" message.
