hows this? i've never used curves, so im just improving most of the time.
looks good. one more thing (im going to get really anal now) watch out for the noise you're getting in the really dark area. that doesnt mean blur it. you want to keep camera grain, but at the same time you dont want intense noise like that. (its possible you cant see the noise on your monitor though) perhaps use curves to make the darkest tones just a little darker without affecting the rest of the image.

i didnt intense any noise or blur... the only thing i do with my pictures off my camera is edit color and heel areas.
