Why? About Elijah? I have no idea. 🙁 Even before the movies came out, I like him as an actor, he was good in Huck Finn and I also liked the Flipper movie and I have seen him in all other movies and I thought he's a decent actor. I think most of the purists were bashing him as Frodo because they didn't imagine Frodo to be that young and adorable, and I also admit that I had that same image of Frodo before, I imagined him as older and not that good-looking, but some of the purists are just too harsh. Judging him even before they fully see the movies.
