it doesnt matter who they are , how strong they are or where thier from. if they dont have energy or magic weilding powers they dont stand a chance, so lets just refine our respective lists and work from there.

that's 8 and I doubt anymore would be needed. this is against just Thanos as is - no "special cosmic goodies".

if I had to add another 2 I'd add......

Ghostrider, although I doubt Thanos allows himself to feel anything that Ghostrider could use against him

so i take it none has read the infinty guantlet where even though thanos was temporarily relieved of the IG he still back handed both drax and hulk with the same pimp slap and said something to the effect of "away from me you brutes"

also when doom was trying to seize the opportunity to wrench the ig for himself thanos blasted the shit outta him(even though to his credit his shield stood up to it)

on another note i beleive i was confusing quasar with captain marvel. the main point i was trying to stress is that it would take a special group of ppl to overcome thanos preferably ones who weild energy. i know everyone would just love to fling the likes of hulk, thing, juggy and other bruisers just from a sheer brute strentgh pov but that doesnt mean jack to thanos.

energy and matter manipulation are the only things that have ever given him a run for his money

I have tried to include all the influences - power - energy - magik and mental.

If I recall (and I might be mistaken) wasn't Thanos in a "blind spot" of the IG but still reeling with extra power and the "blind spot" disappeared rather immeadiatley in the battle? This is a question - not a debate as it's been awhile since reading the IG.

i get supes and magento, even reed, but thanos is impervious to mind attacks so xavier is out. he whomped strange, hulk, iron man, and thor in IG (without the IG mind you)so they are meaningless as well. however i wouuld retain strange as the wild card.

love it or hate it but here is my list: (and im just sticking with marvel)

Magneto
strange
gambit
reed
savage hulk(very important to make that distinction)
jean grey or sue richards--forcefields they create could come in handy(not phoenix, for that wouldnt be fair)
colossus(or anyother class 90 or better bruiser to run the blitz)

i think this should pretty much do the trick.

why is gambit there you just like him or is this a strategy
