This isn't an "In my opinion" thread, which it should be.
Buckethead is technically miles ahead of everyone on that list, except maybe John 5. Dimebag is nowhere near as skilled as either of them. Unless you did it in order of preference.
How is Eddie Van Halen below Billy Gibbons? What are you on?

Guys like Vai shouldn't be mentioned? WTF????
Their's nothing easy about making a whole album, telling a story, and never using vocals to do it.

Clapton was shaking like a leaf after Hendrix opened for cream...he was that blown away he couldn't even light his cigarette...he said to Roger Daltry of "the who"..."i'm gonna go home and practice"

Hendrix is better than Vaughn, not sure why you worded that as if Hendrix was inferior.Clapton was hailed as one of the world's best when Hendrix came along in his early 20s and was in awe.

"Technical ability" is just one factor in determining how 'good' a guitarist is. People look for different things in a guitarist, and speed isn't for everyone, anyway. That being said, Page is incredible. He set the standard for all other guitarists who aimed to perform and play in a professional style. Hendrix on the other hand gave us noise, beautiful fuzz, I mean come on. Give me "Good Times, Bad Times" or "Hey Joe" over whatever the hell Buckethead does any day. Not to diss Buckethead, the guy's cool, but he just plays for the sake of it. He doesn't have as much soul or emotion like the aforementioned guitarists do.
