Has anyone replying to this thread ever seen the ORIGINAL film from 1978?
This is the middle ground between George Romero's classics "Night Of The Living Dead" and "Day Of The Dead." The film, at the time, was rated "NC-17" an American designation preventing those under 17 to see it, with or without their parents. Filled with somewhat dated but groundbreaking FX by Tom Savini, the film made many people aware of how many internal organs they REALLY had..this was a gorefest, but had a GREAT storyline, much so that it started the zombie bandwagon films in Europe, most notably the Italian gut-munching classic 'Zombie' by Lucio Fulci.
I only hope the remake is a good one..lately Hollywood has been producing some stale stuff, making me wonder where people REALLY go when there's no more room in hell: to the movies, of course! 🙂

There's supposed to be a 3 disc set from Anchor Bay with the Director's Cut (uncut) and the theatrical versions of both America and Europe, which Dario Argento helped Romero work on in the case of the Euro-version. I have the Director's Cut DVD and it's sweet as it is now. As far as Zombie, you'll LOVE this film Zilverz, I saw it back in the theatres in the day of the NC-17 film (I was 18 back in 1981) and half the audience walked out and me and my cousin were like "cool we have the place to ourselves practically."
Funny too because my mom who wanted to see it (she loves horror movies too) was so nervous she ate a whole bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and didn't know it LMAO. She said she never saw a movie like that in her life.

As for the original Dawn of the Dead... Does the Directors cut and Theatrical versions have the Exploding head? and the Screw driver to the head scenes ? or only a certain version ? any idea when the 3 disk set was projected release? The 2/10/04 remastered version im refferencing was only like $14 preorder from Deepdiscountdvd soo im guessing it doesnt contain 3 DVDz ):
The thing that made the original Dawn of the Dead so great was George Romero, he pioneered the zombie sub-genre and he created what many feel is the ultimate zombie series. He is a great director, especially when it comes to zombie movies. And the fact that he has nothing to do with the remake should suggest that it probably won't be too strong.
