Its pissy cold here in Amish country tonight. About 25 right now. But the woodstove is cranking. Its about 80 upstairs and 95 downstairs.

Nightime in my house the downstairs is like 70F and the upstairs is 90F. The upstairs is where I sleep too. No matter how I turn the thermostat it is always hot up there.

I love the heat. I hate winter. But I don't want to move to Florida. They have those giant palmetto bugs there you know.

I never saw them when I went there for vacation a couple years back.

We stayed at a private house with a pool out back. When you'd come back to the house at night if you were out and flick on the patio lights, they'd be running everywhere. Big ones, like Buicks.

Palmetto bug is just a fancy name for a cockroach.

just take a house without a pool
