Star Wars' Bosses Warn Websites Again

Movie bosses financing forthcoming prequel Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith are threatening to take legal action against internet sites that leak pictures and plot details. Currently, various websites are displaying photographs of a pregnant Padme Amidala, played by Natalie Portman, and a new android villain named General Grievous. Other shots online include an aggressive light-saber duel
between Anakin Skywalker and his former mentor Obi-wan Kenobi - which leaves Skywalker horribly scarred and propels him to don the black suit of Darth Vader. Producers of the film had issued a warning to various internet sites last year, and have now renewed their threat of legal action. Revenge Of The Sith is due to hit American cinemas on May 19.

Perhaps, but I have a feeling they'll have Hyperspace-exclusive previews for the ROTS DVD and the TV series in the future, so that may not be over yet. Who knows 😖

They are warning who?

I thought that their insiders leak pictures and information on purpose, and that it is approved from george lucas, or whoever is in charge.

If they wanted to stop that, they would've stop it by now.

Are they going to take legal action againts their employees? 🙂

I heard that too. But then I also heard that they wern't that upset either.
This was in a spoiler session from TFN so as for legitamacy-"interpret at will commander.." 🙂 But even so........
The whole reason that store logos are put on carrier/shopping bags
is so that you advertise for the store/outlet for free....
Having the pics leaked serves the same purpose for GL and the crew....

'tis not logical to break the balls of the sites who offer that service...

And after the backlash against the Prequels in the mainstream,
one could argue that unleashing hot pics to those who had criticised it, may get a few back on the side of anticipation.....

Well, at first I would've thought that it was on purpose. But seeing some of the recent pictures... they're super high resolution images of the past few BTH pictures. Now, why would you want to purposefully leak something that you're making people pay for in the first place, with watermarks and low res? I think there's a leak somewhere in LFL, and that these source pics aren't supposed to be making it out to the public. Might be another case of what happened with AOTC... that guy took so much LFL stuff and released a copy of the movie onto the internet months ahead of time 😖

That is small amount of money, compare to publicity they achieve by doing that.

If there was a leak, they would know it, and stop it if they wanted to.

I think it's not fair from GL. I am ok with the spoilers, but seeing padme dying, dooku dead, and other important plot points...i think that leaking this is arrogant.

It took them quite a few months to track down the employee who did it for AOTC. There comes a point where you're purposefully leaking pics, and when there's a leak in the company. Why draw away people from their paid service? If the HS members see that the same images they pay money to see are leaked at five times the resolution, widescreen, minus watermarks, I think that's a little overboard on the purposeful leaking.
