It's funny, because we put up multiple sensible points, and team Storm has to cling to the same three things, yet they claim she is more versatile. Lightning, fog/wind cover, air sucking, and never do they add more explanation as to WHY, they just continue to repeat themselves.
Alone, I put up;
1. Invisibility (Which he does NOT need the magic armor to do, I'm finding the scan for that today)
2. Air-tight suit
3. Storm can only control weather patterns (Which means nothing for his armor because there is no weather there)
4. Stood up to a sandstorm created by Mephisto on a plane where he controls reality itself. Thats like saying you can take a gauntlet blast from Thanos while wielding the infinity gauntlet... oh.. wait...
5. Can dodge her lightning attacks

Get called idiots? I've never done that but lets be fair now. If you weren't coming up with theories like you do, you would be taken seriously. If you didn't think Storm could triumph over Dr. Doom, you'd be taken seriously.
You can't post huge posts and then moan when they're countered to hell. You were the one who strolled in here like Godzilla preparing to end the thread and it backfired. It's not our fault.

Of course in a comic book Storm could win because Doom is the bad guy. Heroes always find some way to overcome unbeatable odds. And Storm isn't such a powerless pushover that it's like one of the Wonder Twins vs. Dr. Doom.
But, with that genre based argument out of the way...
Objectively, based solely on powers, Dr. Doom would win. But for the Storm fans this doesn't mean that she isn't a tough cookie or strong leader. Storm's role isn't to take on guys like Doom head on anyway, so don't despair!
Using the old "Good guys triumph" doesn't work. Doom isn't losing to an X-Man. It's just not happening. Surfer is just about the good-est of all good guys. Doom put him out on the street with no board while riding off with it after beating him down.
Storm's role is to lead the X-Men if Cyclops leaves or dies. Their role as a team is keep the peace. Doom is a major player in every monumental comic event, where are the X-Men? While Doom was off whooping both teams AND cosmics in Secret Wars, where were the X-Men? Were they getting whooped by Spidey? Yes.

I vaguely remember some comic from when I was a kid where Dr. Doom took Silver Surfer's board, but I don't remember the details. I don't think that would always be the outcome between Dr. Doom and the Silver Surfer though.
I haven't followed Dr. Doom that much, but I remember earlier Dr. Doom as being a foe of the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man before he got involved in all these cosmic level plots. I don't recall that Doom always won versus those foes.
Anyway I changed it to say that she *could* win because the good guys (gals) could have an underdog's chance. But I also have read a few of your arguments about Doom versus other characters and it seems like over the years he has gotten to be quite powered up from the old Doom (basically an evil , non-stretchy Reed Richards in a Destro mask). I suppose I am convinced of
his power.
I didn't want to argue Storm's side anyway (I agreed that objectively Doom would win)...just since this thread is so long it seemed that some number of people thought it was a decent fight. I don't have much invested in either side, but the Doom arguments seem compelling, to be nice I offered a few nice words about Storm. It must not be a completely obvious battle because some people did argue Storm's side. I think that now the arguments are coming pretty strongly though because the thread got so heated!
To my mind, it is Doom's intelligence that let's him go toe to toe with cosmic beings on occasion. Also his ambition lets him deal with plots on a cosmic scale. I guess it is a credit to Doom that regular Joe from Earth can participate in all of these comic plots.
A guess about why the thread is so long:
My feeling is that to people who haven't read all of the Dr. Doom storylines the battle is non-obvious because Storm has strong innate powers while Doom is a smart guy with a power suit. Unless people really know what Doom has accomplished in many stories (pointed out here by others) it is easy to imagine a good fight.
It is a completely obvious battle though, to know that all you have to do is read the stuff they were coming up with. People supporting Doom didn't have to go into science and physics to give him OPTIONS, they did.
The thread didn't ever get heated, Doom isn't losing to Storm. People who believe Storm would or even COULD win, are either playing the devil's advocate or being silly. Because she wouldn't do either.
I'm not saying this coz I like Doom, Storm is one of the better X-Men, one of my favs when I read the comic for years. However, it is Storm Vs Dr. Doom, any comic fan with sense knows that this is such a pointless mismatch.
The reason this thread is so long is because people like Demigawd believe that Doom is overrated and therefore set out to try and prove that he can be beat by X-Men when he cannot. That's why. He is an underdog voter unless it's someone he likes.
Doom just isn't losing to Storm. It's not happening.
