"Remember, we're not together yet," Robert muttered to Jana as the others moved over. As soon as they sat down, he let a brief smile cross his face.
"I assume you heard the news from the policeman?" he asked, "We need to decide what we're going to do about it, don't we. Do you think it could have been one of us?"
Aurora nodded, but stared off into space. She was thinking the exact same thing as Jana. "Well, what do we do know? I mean, we knew Jonathan best right? Or maybe he had others... people we never knew." She sighed, wondering how things had come to this. "And we still have our show to put on too. The partons obviously are refusing to let us out of it." She put her head in her hands.
"I think it's fair to say that I've known him longest," Robert said, "And he only has us. There was a time when he had other friends, but I'm sure they moved away to the sea. I know that before I arrived at his house, he had just recieved a visitor. I hada sense of Deja Vu, but John wouldn't tell me who it was. Now I'm sure it was one of them."
Robert smiled. The others had no reason to disbelive his lie.
Jana looked at Robert. "Really?" she asks. "It doesn't surprise me. Jonathan never spoke about his friends before he joined the troupe. At elast not to me." she sighed. "There's a lot of things he never told me." Pain reflected in her eyes. Ever the actress, Jana let a few tears fall. "I just wish I knew who did this."
Jana looked up at Robert as a small blush crossed her petite face. “I know, Robert.” she says. “It’s just I miss him. I’m sure we all do, but I miss him in a different way from you all.” She dabbed at the corner of her eye with a handkerchief. The initials RD clearly sown on the right hand bottom corner in deep blue thread.
