The next month was one of the most confusing ones Harry had ever had at Hogwarts. Between Ron flirting with Hermione (nonstop) and Melba chasing after him, (every waking minute) Harry was starting to get annoyed and aggrevated.
Harry started to wish that he could be eleven again, with no spastic crushes.
That night Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Melba were in the common room working on there potions papers. He could hear Ron wispering things to Hermione and then she'd laugh and playfully slap him. " Uh i cant take this anymore" Harry thought. He got up and started to crawl out the portrait hole when something grabbed his foot. "AH, Melba wh what?" He asked her trying to pull his foot from her grip. " Where are you going?" Melba asked him. " I sware she's like a kid" Harry thought. " Um im gonna go to a um, uhh a quidditch captain meeting!" He spat out quickly. " Oh, ok well hurry back" Melba told him as she ran back to her chair in front of the fire. Harry hated to lie but if he told her he was going to go see Hagrid, she would have cut off a hand to go too.
He pushed the huge oak doors open that lead to the grounds and ran down to Hagrids hut. He could see a light flickering inside from the windows.

As he got closer he could hear Hagrid talking to someone. Harry crept around to the back window and ducked below it. "If you wish Hagrid, you've been such a good friend, i would not feel right if i didnt grant you your wish" Dumbledore told Hagrid. "Thank ya Proffesor, I'll be sure an give yous the times soon" Hagrid told Dumbledore as he stood up. Harry heard Hagrids door open and saw Professor Dumbledore walk across the grounds and back into the castle.
Harry walked around, he didnt want to talk to Hagrid anymore, but he didnt want to go back to the common room either. He walked until he got to the great lake and sat down under a big tree. He couldnt help but wonder what Hagrids wish was. He was soon lulled to sleep by the chilly breeze and soft grass.
Harry woke up not knowing where he was. All he saw was complete darkness. After it dawned on him he was at the lake, he realized it must had been at least two.
He took the back ways up to the common room. Tonite Slytherin was on watch and he didnt feel like getting in any fight.
Before he crawled into his bed, he took one last look outside his window and saw that Hagrids light was still on. "He's up to something" Harry thought.
Early the next morning, just as the sun was touching the lake, Harry was woken up by Ron muttering something. He decited not to go back to sleep, even though he was tierd from last night. Harry got up, put his robes on and grabbed his wand. "I'll see if Hagrids up" He decited that he'd go and talk to him, even if Hagrid wouldnt tell him whats going on. He quitely snuck down the boys dormitory stairs and into the common room. "Oh great" Harry mumbled under his breath. Melba was asleep on the couch, book in hand.
He tip toed passed her, carefully dodging the squeaky floorboards and crawled out the portrait hole.
"Even better .. " Harry said again under his breath. Snape was having a comversation with a portrait just outside the fat lady. Harry walked passed him, hoping he wouldnt notice him. "Goodmorning Harry" Snape said as Harry walked passed him. "Um morning Professor. . "Harry said awkwardly. "That is so weird, whats his problem?" Harry thought as he ran down the staircases that led to the grounds.
Hagrid answered his big door with oven mitts on. "mornin arry, just made a cup uf tea" He said as he moved backwards to led Harry in. When Harry sat down at the table, he saw that everything was in suitcases. "Hagrid, where are you going?" Harry asked. " well,um i don kno wheres to begin, im leavin" Hagrid said looking down at the kettle. "LEAVING, what. . . but Hagrid, why, when are you coming back?" Harry asked not wanting tea anymore. " Never, thas when, ive always wante'd to see de world, en im not gettin any younger" Hagrid said, chuckling at his own joke. "Well whose gonna be keeper of keys and grounds at hogwarts then?" Harry asked. "that'll be up ter Dumbledore te decide" Hagrid told Harry. "not te be rude or enything arry, but i ave a rather large load of thing's ta pack, so i'll see ya later a'right?" Hagrid told Harry. Harry could see tears forming in Hagrids eyes. "Well, ill go then, I'll bring Ron and Hermione tonite, we can have one last good tea together" Harry offered. "Tha'd be nice" Hagrid said opening the door for Harry. Harry left, wishing he hadnt gone. He decited to head back up to the dormitory to wake Ron up. They had potions first this morning.
