The 4 Mages: short story

Chapter One

The Four Mages

Lady Nicole Star

The rain was pouring down in buckets as the young lady gazed out the window sadly. She focused on the window even more when she heard the sounds of a gay party, where people were talking of idle court matters. All she wanted was to be anywhere but here, enjoying herself not rotting her life away.
A lady right beside her poked her hard in the ribs saying, “Lady Nicole, listen to the king announce his new High Noble. You must root for your father or a day in the dungeons ought to clear you out!” She hit Nicole hard to make her stop staring out the window and focus on the king.
Nicole slowly turned and focused her blue eyes on the ruler of the land. She was becoming hopeless to ever get out of here. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to say our new High Noble is Sir Nicholas Star, my brother in law! He has been loyal to this country since he married Lady Elizabeth Star, my sister, who has passed recently. To Sir Nicholas!” said the king raising his cup to the new High Noble in a toast. Everyone raised their cups and Nicole was hit to lift her cup by the evil lady.
The young noble got up and hugged her father wearing a fake smile. When he let go she began to edge toward the door to the hallway when a snobby girl stood in her way. “Nicole, how nice to meet you! Since your father is popular with my father doesn’t mean I’m going to be nice to you! Watch your back because one wrong move and you’ll be out in the streets begging for money. Now go and get out of my way!” said the girl spitting at Nicole’s feet walking to her seat next to the king, smiling around the room.
Nicole pushed her shoulder-length brown hair out of her face as she ran to her room. She started packing up a bag she secretly bought in the market place without the picky lady’s, Peggy Van Dar’s, permission. The noble hurried with this task and when she was done she cut her hair very short, so no one would recognize her. That way she can sneak past the guards out of the city, once she got out of her window. She put on an old patched blue dress with her muddiest boots to look like a peasant.
Her bed sheets turned into a rope in seconds and she was climbing down the castle wall away from her evil life to find her true self. The guards grunted as she hurried past to the forest outside town, where her life can begin.
Peggy ruined her life because she wanted a chance to be with Sir Nicholas, but he only made her watch his daughter even more. She wanted to get beyond that and marry him, pushing Nicole out of the picture. Nicole hated her father for doing this to her, so took mild interest in this.
The girl who threatened Nicole was Princess Kiari the Brat. She always hated Nicole and wanted her out of court to try to get Peggy as her mother. Peggy liked the snobby princess, but loved Nicholas too much to notice her young fan. Nicole tried to stay out of these affairs.
The stars twinkled as Nicole lay on the moss covered ground to forget her past life. A stream trickled nearby and she was too weak to get a drink herself, so she dreamed of getting one. A ton of water fell all over her and she choked for air breathlessly. Nicole stared into the night wondering what just happened . . .

Princess Kiari Elizabeth Moon III of England

“Mistress?” a maid says with caution.
“Why did you wake me from my beauty sleep?” yelled Princess Kiari Elizabeth Moon III of England. “Why didn’t you address me by my full name?”
“Sorry, I just wanted to tell you that you have a very busy day today. You have to go to a meeting in an hour and the other maids still have to dress you,” said the maid very frustrated.
“I don’t care!” yelled the princess.
Just then Nicole walked by looking through the open door at a fuzzy haired undergarment-wearing monster. “Why are you looking at me?” screamed the fuzzy haired monster. Then Nicole realized it’s not a fuzzy haired monster it was Kiari the Brat.
“Sorry,” said Nicole politely. “Don’t you think you could get dressed in regular clothes though?”
“Oooooooh! I’m going to get you!” yelled Kiari the Brat jumping out of bed. She landed hard on the floor as the king peered in.
“Kiari?” said the king puzzled.
“Uuuuh . . . I . . .I . . .wassss . . . was . . . looking for a maid. Maid! MAID!” said Kiari trying to cover up her embarrassing fall as Nicole hurried away.
The next day Kiari woke up and got dressed without being asked to. “Today is going to be a good day,” said Kiari gay fully. It was a good day until that night.

“Come here!” said a shadowy voice. Kiari cautiously walked toward the shadow. “Here drink this!” the shadow said holding out a glass filled to the brim. Kiari slowly and cautiously took the glass. She put it to her lips and with one swig she fell to the ground.

A little while later Kiari woke in a room filled with darkness. Kiari looked it over and said scared, “Wh. . . Where am I?” . . .

Heather McNorman

A shout, “Get up you useless twits!” awoke the two girls sleeping contently on the straw in the stable. They rose quickly, confused but aware of the woman in the doorway. The stout lady blocked the entrance outside and grunted to the white dresses hanging on hooks nearby. She left them with a slam of the door as the girls changed quickly. They both hurried outside to do their daily chores.
“Heather, it’s your turn to tend the sheep and I will go do the groceries in the market. I need time to spend with Josh; I suspect we will be hitched soon! Good luck, bye!” said one girl named Catherine dreamily.
The green mountain was over flowing with sheep when the other girl named Heather walked up toward it. She took a spot on a rock and watched the sheep for hours. After a period of time, Heather fell asleep dreaming of a new home.
A while later, she was shaken awake by a great force that threw Heather several feet. “You ungrateful twit, a load of our sheep have been eaten by wolves, thanks to you. I will let your father decide the punishment, lets go!” said her mother dragging Heather to her doom.
They walked up to the tiny cabin in the village as Heather’s father, Morrid McNorman, told Catherine, “The two nobles, Princess Kiari and Lady Nicole, are at it like mad dogs. They never get along and they could start a cat fight I suspect.” He stopped the moment Heather entered tearful prepared for her fate.
“Heather has lost us a good load of sheep that would have been good for future trading. I have given you the right to decide her fate, Morrid,” said Morrid’s wife, Camile, waiting for him to give a horrible verdict to Heather.
“I think we shouldn’t be raising a forgetful daughter, who will lose what keeps us living. I decide we send her away because she is of no use to us. She is only a girl!” said Morrid eyeing his daughter happily; finally he was able to get rid of her. This made Heather so mad because she has done so much for her family and didn’t deserve to be kicked out.
Catherine raised her fist toward Morrid but stopped when he gave her an evil glare too. “You pig!” Catherine yelled violently at her so-called father. Catherine didn’t care what happened because her sister’s fate hung on the line.
“You have no right to send me away! I work hard and keep our family from going to ruins. I do a lot more than work for you, I’m basically your servant!” said Heather because she could no longer control her rage. She saw Catherine thrown in her room by her mother, crying to try to save her only sister from the wrath of their parents.
“Impudent girl!” Morrid snarled at Heather dangerously. “You will leave this family and rid us of your bad luck, after dinner. We no longer care for a selfish daughter like you! Maybe you need to go out there to grow up!”
His words stung so bad she thought he deserved his dinner to be put on fire for throwing her out. His meal smoked and went into flames. Heather jumped up and ran for the forest outside town. She heard her father scream as she reached the forest.
Her father hated her and always favored Catherine. He would pick on her for nothing but sport. Morrid would do this for hours at a time!
Camile was Morrid’s slave doing his every whim and wish. If only she got a mind of her own!
Heather came to a stream and took a long drink. She gazed up at the girl on the opposite bank just lying there. Gold glittered from the girl’s necklace as she rustled Heather noticed the girl was soaked to the core. Heather looked her over realizing that the girl was of noble blood!

Alice Windthrob

After a long days work at the palace Alice headed home. Not to spend the evening with her family but by herself in a little shack with bugs in the roof and old hay floors with rusty walls to top it all off. But that night she would get away from all of that mistreatment. She was going to run away!

“Oh my feet!” says Alice’s gentle voice as she sits on a tree stomp. As she looks down to take her shoes off and rest she sees footprints. She followed the footprints engraved in the muddy soil, she looks up and sees a girl being dragged to an old shack. It was Kiari being taken away, but because she was to scared she didn’t want to help her. Alice ran away from there until she saw two people by a stream.

Chapter Two

Save The Brat!

“Who are you?” said Alice frightened backing away into the nearest tree. Heather walked up to Alice with a cup of water in her hand for her to drink. Alice backed up further spilling the water all over Heather. The second girl got up from the ground and pointed at the river making Alice’s glass fill to the brim.
“I am Lady Nicole Star, daughter of Sir Nicholas Star, and cousin to Princess Kiari Elizabeth Moon III. I ran away from home to start a new life. Judging by your wardrobe you must be a maid at the castle. My question is why are you here?” said Nicole looking over the terrified girl suspiciously.
“I am Alice Windthrob and I ran away from home to get away from my mean parents. Why do you need to know?” said Alice tearfully sinking to the ground. She sobbed rocking the world with her misery and the other two tried everything to calm her down.
“I’m Heather McNorman from the village down yonder. My own parents kicked me out of my home. My sister and I had chores everyday that made our life a nightmare. I’m happy I have finally gotten out of that place at last,” said Heather pulling Alice to her feet.
“My parents beat me whenever I talked to them, so I don’t think you had it as bad as me. My sister, Tammy, was treated better and she always got me in trouble. At the castle I served Princess Kiari and was worked to death by the selfish brat. All I wanted was a good life, but all I have is the opposite of what I really want,” said Alice staining her purple dress with her green eyes pouring down her face to the ground.
“It’s okay! No need to cry,” said Nicole pulling out her handkerchief to dry Alice’s tears. Heather went over and helped Alice gulp down her water. They sat down and gazed at the sky while Alice calmed down. She gazed at the girls beside her finally finding friends.

The morning sun glared in Nicole’s face as she awoke to a new day. Heather was snoring rather loudly and Alice was in a fearful sleep tossing about every single minute. The noble looked out to see the forest come to life before her eyes.
Alice awoke screaming, “Oh no! The young princess was kidnapped! Why didn’t I stop him?” Heather sat bolt upright staring dazed at Alice curiously. Nicole turned and gazed at Alice very strangely.
“What are you talking about?” said Heather yawning every few seconds. Alice started crying on the ground making the other two stare more. The young maid pounded the ground and a beautiful flower grew in her wake. Nicole gasped and pointed at it for Heather to stare at it too.
“Calm down and tell us how you made that appear,” said Nicole interested at the flower at her feet. Heather poured some water on it and watched it drink it very fast.
“That happens whenever my hands touch the Earth and I have told nobody because they burn people with powers at the stake. I don’t want to die so it has been inside me so long I felt I was going to burst. I noticed you had powers to Nicole. How long have you had them?” said Alice sniffling as she turned to Nicole who smiled weakly ready to tell of her magic.
“I’ve had it since yesterday early in the morning. I wish for something and it happens almost instantly. People would put me on a freak show if they knew so I decide to keep it quiet. Why don’t we prepare for breakfast?” said Nicole distracting the others from her amazing water powers to the topic of breakfast.
“You guys aren’t the only mages here,” said Heather waving her hand as she got their attention. “I have a weird power of fire that turned my father’s meal into ashes. That’s why I ran away to not be punished ever again. Also that is why I am here.” The two girls smiled at Heather happy to know they were not the only witches around. Just then Alice’s head snapped to the memory of her dream and she turned on them looking pale.
“Princess Kiari was taken away by a man. I was to scared to go after her so I chickened out. Maybe she is dying somewhere, we’ve got to help her,” said Alice suddenly making the others gaze at her confused.
“When I ran away I saw him take her away. Who knows what he will do to her. We’ve got to save her!” said Alice making her friends nod their heads ready to help the brat out of danger.
“Where did they go?” said Nicole as she shook Alice to get the answer out.
“To a shack south of here and it looked abandoned,” said Alice as Heather released her from Nicole’s grip. She caught her breath looking at Nicole puzzled about what would happen next.
“Let’s go save the brat from danger!” said Nicole as the girls headed toward the south to the shack to save the princess from her cruel fate.
So as they headed toward the shack and when they were ten feet away from it they heard two people talking so they became very quiet. They managed to sneak to the back of the shack were there was a second door. Through this door they snuck into the shack to find Kiari
BAM! The door closed behind them and the kidnappers walked in with a scary smile on their faces. “Get them!” one yelled as they tried to get the mages. Heather wished for a ring of fire and it came around the evil kidnappers. Nicole picked up the princess as Alice noticed some gunpowder in the shack, while part of Heather’s ring of fire went on the floor toward the gunpowder. With no time to put the fire out they ran for their lives with the two kidnappers, in the ring still, on their tails.
Once they were to deep into the forest for the kidnappers to catch up Alice noticed there was something wrong with Kiari. “Hey there is some kind of powder on her lips. It’s sleeping powder,” Alice said as a distant BOOM told them the shack was gone for good.
“Let me wash it off,” said Nicole as water droplets fell on Kiari’s lips.
“Who are you?” said Kiari half-asleep almost awake.
“I’m Alice Windthrob, your former maid, and this is Heather McNorman. The noble beside me is Lady Nicole Star,” said Alice pointing to each person she introduced as the girl came to consciousness.
“Nicole is here? Wait until I get you for kidnapping me, you twit! As soon as daddy hears this you will be out of court on the streets in a wink. Return me to the castle before I make your life worse!” said Kiari as she rose to her feet yelling at Nicole. She stomped her foot ready to go home soon.
“Nicole didn’t kidnap you, a man did probably to get big bucks for return to the castle. We saved you from them so you should thank us instead of yelling at Nicole!” said Heather angrily as Kiari got red in the face.
“Well, I want to go home now! If you will so kindly take me home to my father I will pretend this never happened. I’ll invent an excuse to get you out of trouble, now escort me home!” said the princess sweetly trying to persuade them to take her home.
“We can’t go back to our former lives because we can’t face them after this,” said Alice as Kiari got very hot in the face. Her temper rose and suddenly a whirlwind came lifting the girls off their feet.
They spun around very fast falling hard on the ground. Kiari was floating in the air and slowly came down after several minutes. Nicole got up slowly picking up an old scroll that had a huge chunk of it missing.
Nicole slowly began to unwrap the scroll. There were two pages inside it, a note and poem. First she read the poem:

Four of magic
To save our world
From doom and peril
When danger is about to unfurl.

Then she read the note:

Dear Reader,
To find the rest of the poem you must search all over to find it.
Take heed because I don’t know what you will find.

I like this story; I hope you'll post more of it 'cause it's great.

Chapter Three

The Witch’s Cave

The note turned red then exploded into a thousand pieces on the ground, the note burned to nothing. They watched it disappear as they decided what to do next.
Nicole rolled it up into her bag and set off toward the cliffs in front of them. Heather and Alice raced after to follow her, but Kiari stood in one place sending whirlwinds after them. “What about me, you brats? I need escorts to the castle, so take me back right now!” said Kiari as she dropped them hard on the ground.
“Can it snob! We need to find some poem pieces to complete this rhythm! Anyways it’s better than being your servants all the way home. Come on Nicole, Alice let us head toward that cave over there,” said Heather helping them to their feet and walking on ignoring Kiari.
“Come over here right now! As soon as I return to the castle daddy will throw you in jail for not listening to me!” yelled Kiari angrily at them as Alice slowly edged toward her, but was pulled away by Nicole who continued walking.
Heather turned back and threw a ring of fire around Kiari making a rope as she pulled her along. “Your coming whether you like it or not, your Highness!” said Heather as they caught up with the others.
“You freaks can do magic, too?” she said pointing at Heather rather scared now. “I thought I was the only one.”
“Well I can do fire magic and Nicole can do water magic. Young Alice has the power of earth, I believe,” said Heather looking at her feet and pulling harder to make Kiari go faster.
They stopped in front of the cave looking at the cauldrons spread nicely around the ground brewing with every color of the rainbow. They spotted a fat old lady with gray hair in a black cloak stirring a pot continuously. She stared up at the girls and smiled sweetly as she threw powder on them as they approached. The old witch muttered, “Onoranga,” under her breath as they fell asleep into a world of darkness.

“Where am I?” said Kiari rudely. Kiari walked into Nicole and yelled, “Ow, that hurt!”
“Watch it klutz!” said Nicole to Kiari shoving her into the cavern wall roughly.
“Klutz? You’re the klutz!” yelled Kiari as she shoved Nicole back.
“Stop it! I’m sick of your fighting,” said Heather restraining Nicole from hitting Kiari again.
“Yeah, you have been fighting since we started this trip so just. . .” said Alice as a finger tapped her shoulder.
Kiari screamed at Nicole saying very scared, “Were you dumping water on me, Nicole?”
“N. .No,” Nicole stammered as a figure walked past her.
Suddenly a bright light blinded them and the witch stood with a hairy monster inside her cave. “Were gonna get eaten!” yelled Heather eyeing the monster very scared.
“Get out!” they all screamed as they ran for safety.
“I’m stuck!” yelled Nicole as she fell into a hole near the entrance of the cave. The witch and monster approached her while the others barely turned around.
“Ugh-Ugh,” said Kiari as she helped Nicole out of the hole and onto her back. “No time for thanks now, Nicole.” Kiari held Nicole until they reached Alice trailing behind Heather. Kiari aimed behind her and made a whirlwind that took the villains far away from the girls.
As soon as they were far away from the cave and had been resting for a few minutes Nicole said, “Thanks for saving me and I’m sorry about fighting with you.”
“Yeah, I shouldn’t have been so rude. I promise from now on that I will treat you guys better. Come and lets make up by hugging,” said Kiari as she hugged all the mages. “Maybe that was a little too much gushiness.”
“Yeah!” said the girls as they stared at the sky wondering what would happen to them next.

“Have you see a girl with black hair and hazel eyes?” questioned Catherine to a young girl in the market place. The girl with long red hair looked at Catherine weirdly.
“No, have you seen a maid, who is my sister, with curly red hair like me and green eyes? My parents are treating me badly because they usually have her do all the work,” said the girl named Tammy starting to cry.
“Lets look together that way we can find them faster,” said Catherine as Tammy nodded in agreement. They set down the path to the forest asking people along the way.

Just then the wind blew hard and a paper appeared out of nowhere near them. Kiari opened it and read:

They may journey day and night
Their conquest will always be right
They may fight
To save our country from dangers untold.

Wow, Yunie, your story ish awesome ✅ Write more soon! Write more soon! *chants*

Story is great; but everything is too simple. You should describe characters a bit more; and make fights more complicated.

I think she did well on describing the characters, but the fight prolly should be more complicated...

Chapter Four

Atlantis

The four mages were puzzled about the next part of the poem. Heather roasted it onto the scroll and her skin crisped along with it, as they set up camp near the coast. Everyone was happy and even Kiari had nothing to complain about as she sat to a dinner of fresh fish, which Heather had caught with long grueling hours by the sea in complete patience..
Alice touched the cold, hard Earth and four soft beds of flowers lay out for them to sleep on. Heather had put a blazing ring of fire around their camp that kept them safe from wild beasts. They nestled under the stars and listened to the songs of the wiry crickets as they fell into a content sleep.
Nicole awoke and doused the diminishing ring of fire with her water powers. She went to the edge of the sea to collect crabs and fish to eat for breakfast. As she got a decent amount of food she saw two yellow eyes glare at her from the thorny bush nearby. Out stepped a shaggy wolf with big, long fangs followed by two other many wolf friends of his. The noble backed away and pelted toward the cliff screaming.
The other mages awoke and ran panting down the coast to Nicole’s aid. Alice stepped back as she tripped with anger pounding her fists into the ground making an earthquake over taking one wolf, which fell into a giant crack the size of a thin bush but stretched for many miles. Heather threw fire balls at another wolf as it blazed around him in a blinding light which encircled him until he was locked in a fire ball, with no way to get out. Kiari saw Nicole streak to the edge of the cliff and before Nicole fell she was inside a sweeping whirlwind as Kiari lifted her hands toward the heaven for it to rise and later let her hands fall a fluttering plopping her near the others.
The only evil wolf left darted toward them and nearly got them when whirlwinds sprang around the witches. Kiari foucused her mind on getting the mages somewhere safe in her whirlwinds. All at once, the wolf jumped at them in the air making Alice scream and Kiari’s power of concentration broke as they fell into the sea below.
Watching the world Kiari knew fade away as the mages sank deeper into the darkening sea. Kiari lost conciousiness until she drifted aimlessly and watched as she fell near death before the darkness blared her vision.

Heather’s brillant eyes slowly focused on the room around her and gasped when she saw she was under water. The others lay on shells around her wearing fins of different colors. They lay there sucking water what used to be air.
A necklace of bright ruby red hung around her thin neck. Her raven black hair was everywhere at once as her hazel eyes inspected her red dazzling fins.
Nicole stirred screaming frightened at her blue fins looking up at her from below. The necklace of pure aqua around her neck glowed brightly as a deep blue water tornado swirled around her.
A light flared and Heather spun in her own tornado as she caught a look at sweet Alice dozing in hers, her green tail and emerald necklace seen every few minutes. Kiari awoke with a gasping yawn and got out of her tornado with a great air about it flapping her white tail dangerously. Her white necklace glowed and she the tornado disappeared only to appear around her a moment later.
Their bedchamber disappeared and a grand hall came into view with shell furnishing and the like. A plump merman sat on a blue shell throne waiting for them all the timeand growing impatient but when they arrived he relaxed. The mages fell at his feet obediently staring at his sad blue eyes. “Welcome daughters of land to my fabulous city called Atlantis. I have heard from a mermaid at my court that you have wonderful powers. She saw you defeat the wolves and witnessed your terrible fall. You have been in our care for two days, during which time we saved your lives by turning you into mermaids,” he said so they could understand him completely.
“Our kingdom has been under attack by a giant squid, who has been destroying our fair city. I want you to rid us of that horrid beast and make peace reign over our kingdom once more. Because if it weren’t for us you would have been dead by now and also don’t take off your necklaces until you reach dry land. There you will turn human once again. We’ll you please help us?” said the ruler of Atlantis sweetly.
“Of course, your majesty, we will be honored to save your kingdom from that beast,” said Nicole looking at the others with a grin as the others winced, they were scared of the beast even hearing about it.

A merman led the girls outside a very musty, dark cave that looked as though Heather’s trashy father, Morrid, lived there instead. It had many different kinds of green mosses around it strewn here and there. They swam inside and watched the merman swim away in fear to his post at the army patrol building.
They were alone in the dark as Heather crafted a ball of fire light that led way for them. It seemed like hours before the cave opened up to a variety of stalactites and weird structures on the ground with dust that made Alice sneeze. Soon the horrid squid loomed in front of them asleep with all of its splender. He was lying on the floor as they approached him soundlessly.
Alice carefully shook the ground with a fierce earthquake and he awoke with a roar that made them cover their ears before he grabbed Alice up above his head in a tentacle. Heather aimed and accurately shot a ball of fire at his demon like eyes that blinded him momentarily making him drop poor Alice. Nicole wrapped him in a rope of twirling water pulling hard to hold him down.
Kiari used some of her wind power and made Alice come down slowly landing on the ground with a thud, despite Kiari’s efforts to make it a good landing. Heather put the squid in the fire ball, that lighted their way earlier, as they journeyed the lonely trip back to the palace coming to that familiar and handed it to the king left him with his kingdom in momentary peace once again. Hurriedly they splashed upward until they hit the border between land and sea breathing sweet air again. They swam to the beach and pushed themselves near the shallows.
On the beach they threw off their necklaces as a light tornado surrounded them returning them to their proper clothes and were finally happy to be on their journey once again for that poem.

“Princess Kiari and Lady Nicole are missing,” said the fancily dressed king to the nobles congregated around the table. “We shall search for them and find out what happened to make them disappear. After our feast our search will begin. I do wonder where they are!”
Snobby people around the dark table drank slowly with golden cups toasting to the return of the young missing nobles.

Once on land, out of the clear sky appeared a paper that landed on Kiari’s head and she read it out loud with no complaing:

They are of nature
The Earth’s children forever
Hanging the balance of the world
On their fingers.

*claps* Great chapter ^^

*Thanks* I'll post more tomorrow.

The fourth chapter is awesome. Keep up with the good work (I hate that phrase)

Chapter Five

Battle of The Bird!

Bratty Kiari was very bewildered and decided to move on to find more confusing poem pieces. “Lets go camp over there!” the princess said pointing to a new grassy patch of dry land and they all ran breathlessly to it. They unpacked a small survival kit of Nicole’s and had some of her leftover food that tasted like rancid broccoli but it was the best they had.
Just as they got settled on the sandy beach, a huge ugly deformed bird came with a swoop as he caught them before carried them high into the bright blue sky. All the mages gasped as they watched the beautiful beach disappear below them.
Soon all they could see were fluffy white clouds. They looked so soft the girls began to dream of sleeping on them so it hypnotized them to sleep because they wanted beds as soft as those. “Ow!” said the girls as they landed in a prickly nest instead of a dream cloud and they spied a musty soiled scroll beside them.
Quick as a flash Kiari grabbed it and then the bird saw her then zoomed down to get Kiari but missed. Kiari beckoned a big whirlwind and blew the bird away temporairly while Heather swooshed her arms to set it on fire. The bird tumbled to the ground. Everyone hopped inside another whirlwind that Kiari conjured and were dropped on the beach rather hardly.
They roasted deformed bird for breakfast while Heather snatched the poem piece from Kiari with a smirk. She read:

Come forth four together
And help the world whenever
Four different powers united
Will help us anytime.

Heather was beginning to understand the poem while Kiari prepared lunch gathering berries and catching fish. They sat to eat it while Nicole filled some glasses with water from the tip of her finger. “Whoever wrote that poem is getting nuttier every minute,” said Kiari finishing her lunch with a sigh of approval as she lay down to stare above her.
A giant looked at her and the girls ran for the green trees to stay alive from that unknown terror. Who knows what he will do to them!
The giant found them but the girls needed time to generate their tired powers so they ran again putting their lives at risk. But not fast enough! The giant grabbed then lifted Kiari into the air so she couldn’t breath a single breath and she passed out in the giant’s evil clutches.
They noticed their powers were back to full so they dared to combine their magic with a blinding light making the giant drop Kiari on the ground. Kiari rustled before she woke up and got to her feet as she made a huge whirlwind that spun around him when released, which dropped him into a ravine, that Alice made seconds before with haste. The giant was gone for good when Alice closed up the ravine with only the soil disturbed to show where he fell.
Alice pulled a scroll from the green grass beside her. It was very old and a small part fell off when she touched it. The others gathered around in a circle eager to hear the next poem piece. She read it aloud for all to hear.

Look into the forest
Young mages of Earth
To find our sprite
And save her in just in time.

Queee! Awesome ^_^

*It's almost finshed too.

Aw, really?

I can make a 2nd one with my friend. That may take a while. Who do you like better Nicole, Kiari, Alice, or Heather?

I like Kiari. She is a spoiled brat so she reminds me on me 😄
BTW 5th chapter is good; but the 4th is still the best

Nicole's my favorite because she is brave and is a leader so I want to be like her.

Chapter Six

Nature’s Balance

The panting girls hurried deeper into the lush forest where light from above flashed through the trees every few seconds. A little puny wizard, willow wand in hand, was sucking out the power of a beautiful, young sprite, who was tied to a scarped tree with a white dingy rope. The sprite grew smaller, almost shrinking, as all of her magic went to the growing wizard, who was as high as the dim treetops now.
Kiari reached him and angrily threw back her hand as she fired a rather large tornado at him, soon he spun out of control as he lost all of his control on his magic. The sprite escaped quickly and they ran for their lives breathing heavily as the mad wizard enclosed a huge cage around them with ablinding flash laughing, after he tripped. They knew they were trapped for good.
“Welcome young mages to the end of the Earth Sprite and say hello to soon to be the most powerful mage in the universe that is standing before you. I was the one who sent the kidnappers, the witch, the wolves, the squid, my flying bird, and Nortus the Giant. They were all sent to capture you. For you see you posses the magic of the sprite, which is greater than any other magic on Earth,” said the wizard with dignity as he lifted the cage with a shrug and lifted each girl before he stuck them on different trees with his magic rope binding spell.
“The sprite gave her magic to you because that was the one kind I was after. She sent the poems when she thought I wasn’t looking, which got you here. The sprite is a pest but is useful! Now I will take your magic and be the most powerful wizard ever!” he said as he released Alice grabbing her hand, ready to take her power away with his hand over her head, that sparkled with a radiant light.
“No you don’t!” screamed Heather as her anger swored as she broke her bindings and reached Alice casting a fire barrier all around them. The wizard stepped back tripping and Nicole broke her bindings whirling a water rope at him and hooked him like a cowboy does a buffalo, which lost his concentration on his magic. Kiari helped the sprite up and put her in her arms, while the sprite forced the evil wizard into a ball with a mighty blue flare as he was sent towards the heavens away from Earth.
“You girls are better than the last mages. They used their powers for evil, but you guys have proven to keep them after all. The old mages wrote the poem after their lost powers turned them good and I kept that poem knowing I will need it someday. I leave you as guardians of the Earth after you die. My time is almost up here, please make good always reign here,” she said as she rose in a white light, that hurt the young girls’ eyes, into the sky bringing them up also.
Magical power went into the mages’ veins before they fell to Earth gently as they fell asleep there. Catherine and Tammy approached their sister’s bodies on the ground. Tammy heaved up Alice, while crying because she never really loved her own sister. Catherine got Heather up and noticed she was breathing quietly. Just then the royal court appeared on horseback taking Nicole and Kiari up as they waited for them to wake.
“Catherine? How did you get here?” said Heather as she was lifted/brought to the royal physician.
“Well, Heather, it is a very long story,” she said as the four girls were checked by the royal doctor.

Nicole awoke in her royal room with Heather in a canopy bed with gold inlaying next to her. The morning sun shone bright as Peggy Van Dar came in primly with her father. They awoke Heather softly and the nobles in front of her confused the fire mage quite a bit. “The king would like to see you two,” said Peggy in a mean manor as she helped them into court dresses after Nicholas scuttled out of the room.
They wore beautiful, flowing dresses as Peggy brought them regally to the king. Kiari and Alice were already there waiting for the two. When he saw them he asked, “What were you four doing in the forest? We have noticed Lady Nicole and Princess Kiari have been missing for several days! And also you young girls have been gone from home!”
The mages told the story and did demonstrations of their power for him. “So you can do magic? Where is this poem, show me!” he said pounding his throne as he waited for it.
Nicole showed it to him and the king was amazed. He went to tell the whole court and this news spread rather quickly.
The girls helped their kingdom with their powers. The two peasants moved into the royal court and their parents were thrown in jail for mistreatment to their children. Their sisters were crowned as nobles and lived with their mage sisters happily. So in the end every thing turned out fine for the mages of Earth and they finally have gotten the life they always wanted.

That's the end for now.
