It's superstition time....!!!

-'CURSE STONE' JINXES A CITY-

"The granite 'Cursing stone'-Which has an ancient spell carved on it- was installed in the Millenium Gallery in Carlisle in 2001."
"Since then, the city has suffered a foot and mouth epidemic, mass redundancies at a food company, a huge blaze and recent floods."
"Now Lib-Dem councillor Jim Tootle has tabled a motion demanding the 7.5 tonne stone destroyed or moved out of the city.
Mr Tootle said:
"Some people may laugh but the curse should be taken seriously."
The curse-which is 1,069 words long-has even been blamed for getting Carlisle United relegated."

Anyone else heard of such seriousness being applied to curses and/or
superstitions round their parts of the world....?!??
