Okay, gotcha. 😎
My church believes that satan could not recive a body because of his evil, so he wants to lead us into unhappiness by sin, so we are miserable like him. hows that for an answer?
and i agree somewhat with debbiejo, we are unhappy mostly becuase we brought it on ourselves with sin. By doing good, we can be happy, even if we run into hardships, and by doing bad, we bring bad into our lives.

If you look in the book of Job in the Bible, you'll see that God afflicted Job by request of Satan. Therefore, I think that Satan more or less punishes those who are faithful and committed to God. Just look it up.
God allowed Satan to afflict Job, so long as he did not take Job's life. There was a flaw in Job that not even Satan could see, only God was aware of it. Why couldn't Satan see it? Because it was the same sin that caused him to rebel in the first place...

Oh! that makes it true? 🙄 You are living in a fantasy. Satan is an icon that represents the opposite of good. But there is not person behind the myth.
And I suppose that you saying that he does not exist proves his non-existence. I can give you scriptures of the Bible, you can give me the school of thoughts of Buddhism. Let's agree to disagree. 😉
