Adam Warlock VS. Martian Manhunter

Adam Warlock VS. Martian Manhunter

Can Martian Manhunter defeat the Warlock? This is normal Warlock, against an ticked off Martian. Keep in mind, MM has taken out the whole Justice League before, so could MM defeat the Warlock?

The scenario: This battle will take place in space, since they both don't need air to breath, it'll be a perfect battleground.

Here are the stats of both warriors:

Adam Warlock:

Height: 6 ft. 2 in.
Weight: 240 lbs.
Eyes: Red
Hair: Blond
Skin: Gold

1. Strength Level: Adam Warlock possesses superhuman strength which he can increase even further by enhancing it with cosmic energy. Marvel directories list his strength at roughly 4 tons unenhanced - and 40 tons enhanced. This listing originates from the old handbooks - since then Warlock created new bodies for himself, pip, and gamora. Pip's new body raised his strength from a normal human - up to class 10 (perhaps higher). To what extent Warlock augmented his own strength is unknown, though since that time Warlock has been capable of doing battle with several class 100 entities. It is presumable he is at least capable of reaching class 70 or 80.

2. Durability: Warlock has an immense durability - which when he is tapping cosmic energy increases even further. He took multiple blows from the brother of Ulik, who was presumably class 90 - without being harmed. He is able to withstand lightning bolts, missles, bullets, and nuclear warheads. When at his maximum strength, Warlock is surrounded in a nimbus of energy. He has not, however, reached this peak of durability is quite some time.

3. Cosmic Power: Warlock has a fair ability to tap cosmic energy for personal uses. He is unable to manipulate it as well as the Silver Surfer, or tap quantities anywhere near those Thanos of Titan does. Normally Warlock uses his cosmic power for bolts of destructive force, and to enhance his own strength and durability. When channeled into a bolt, his maximum strength was capable of destroying an area the size of the Kremlin in a single shot.

4.) Travel: In an Earthlike atmosphere, Warlock was able to attain the speed of sound (770 miles per hour). He could use his cosmic energy to locate and enter natural space-warps (discontinuities in the fabric of space) in order to traverse interstellar space. Warlock is capable of flying faster than light in space - but he is not as fast as the Silver Surfer. He is also able to teleport short distances, but the greater the distance, the more taxing the teleportation effort. Once, in desperate need to return home, Warlock travelled into a black hole, and used it to appear closer to Earth.

6.) Mind Power: An early bid for psionics, Warlock had them in excess. His telepathy was able to pierce telepathic shielding, and his telekinesis able to block the hammer and blows of Thor with ease. He possesses a nearly invinicible telepathic shield around his mind - though psi's of Exodus, Sersi, Man-Beast strength are able to pierce this shield and affect his mind.

7.) Soul Affinity: Adam Warlock has demonstrated a close affinity to his own, and other, souls. This is likely because of his longstanding relationship with the soul gem. Even without the gem Warlock is able to sense another's soul - commune with it - and possibly affect it. He can commit exocisms within a body as well.

Who wins?

MM wins slightly

i dunno...it appears as if warlock is the telepathic equal of MM, plus a whole lot of cosmic power

The only chance MM has to engage the Warlock in Physical battle. MM is probably physically stronger. Cause no telepathy assault is going to work on Warlock. Unless MM's telepathy is on par with Exodus, but most likely not. Telepathy will not work here probably for both opponents. Can MM take a few hits from power cosmic?

I agree physically MM stands a good chance.

Martian Manhunter is considerably better than Xavier. He is said to be by far the most dangerous member of the JLA. The first statement was according to Superman, who said that there are around 5 people in the universe he would rather no fight, and that the Martian Manhunter was at the top of that list. Green Lantern also said the same thing, that MM was basically the most lethal individual on the entire planet. And the Guardians of Oa basically stated the same thing (note: we’re talking about the guardians of Oa here).

MM basically, in a bid to find out who was responsible for an act of atrocity, turned himself into a tree (he is a shape shifter) and touched the minds of every single person on earth. In seconds. Without the aid of any machine!
He can basically reach any person on earth AS WELL as the moon. His range may be further than that, but the maximum range written down in a comic is basically the entire earth plus the moon.

Jjon Jonz also reached out and forced world peace (Israelis became bossom buddies with Palestinians), lobotomized all criminals in the globe (including Lex Luthor), and once he had gotten totally carried away by his evil side mentally controlled the military to launch nuclear ICBMs.

Not only is he telepathic, he is also an empathy of a high magnitude of power. For example he has sensed things that the only other person who could was the Angel Zauriel. Is telepathic abilities are just not human (after all, he himself is NOT human).

The main thing about Jjon Jonz is that he is a pacifist. When (in JLA: Trial by Fire) he let go of his pacifist nature and became his TRUE self, he basically defeated the entire JLA, killed off all the White Martians by himself, nuked a city, and almost destroyed the world.

There is also a telepathic attack that all Martians have that is supposed to be unstoppable. However this would not be a factor since it can only be used once, and MM already used it back in his homeworld.

Conclusion: MM is far more powerful than Xavier. Even if Xavier has Cerebro/Cerebra it would make little difference.

And one more thing (and this is of particular importance here).
Xavier has problems touching the minds of shape shifters. For example Mystique is largely invisible to him due to the fact that her mind is in a state of flux.
Guess who is the JLA’s number one shapeshifter: Plastic man, ofcourse.
Well, guess who is number two! Martian Manhunter!

good points dude.

Edit. Wrong thread

I agree with you .
