Okay, I'm going to see If we can get this back on track, but please, with all due respect, no more one sentence responses.
Orion froze, nose slightly raised, eyes glaring out over the dimly lit streets, ignoring the few pedestrians quickly making their way to various locations. He had been following Yuri's scent ever since he had discovered she had vanished, but now he had suddenly lost her trail.
Puffing heavily, his new human slave jogged up next to him, bending over, hands on knees, tying to suck in deep breaths. "Slow...please...slow down." He coughed, regaining his composure some what as he stood erect. "My lord, that is. Please, I dont have your endurace."
"No one said you had to follow me, Tony Campbell. Look, it is simple. If I call, you come, if I don't, well, you can do what ever the hell you like. Easy, no?"
"Whatever," Tony replied, gaining some nerve finally, getting almost testy with the vampire. "Now, have you found her, or must I run around all night?"
Orion arched a brow.
"My lord," Tony added quickly.
Orion turned his attention back to the streets just as multiple loud explosions ripped the still night air.
"Well," he replied, slowly, suddenly worried for Yuri's safety despite the fact he knew it was ridiculously hard to kill the woman, "If I didn't know where she was before, I certainly do now."
He began to pace off in the direction the explosions had sounded from, but puased midstep, head darting to a shadowed alley to his left. Extending his fangs, he went into a quick crouch, finally realising what had distracted him from Yuri's scent.
Instinctively, Tony crouched down behind Orion, gazing over the vampires shoulder into the darkness beyond. "What do you sense?" His shaking voice whispered into Orion's ear.
"Vampires. Lots of them. But...well, thats impossible. There aren't that many of us around."
"Christ, more of you, my lord?"
Orion smirked. "Perhaps. I can't be sure. It may not be my kind I am sensing at all. My perception seems a little...fuzzy. Almost like something is trying to stop me from sensing it...or making it seem that way so as to entice me to enter its domain."
"Like a trap, my lord?"
"No, not 'like' a trap. It damn sure s a trap. You can bet your blood on it. Which is exactly why we are walking into it."
"We?" Tony squeaked more than bellowed as he shot to his feet. "Oh no, if you think I am going down a dark alley with you, into some trap that may or may not involve more vampires, then, oh no, no, no, you are dead wrong."
"Then crane your neck, Mr. Campbell, for I am getting hungry."
Tony swallowed hard, eyes darting to the alley. "Bloody hell, all right! But I'm not leading the way."
Orion grinned. "Believe it or not, Tony, I'm not that mean." Patting the man on his shoulder, Orion set off down the alley, jogging down dank stairs he thought should not have been there, and continueing on down an equally dank hall until he came to an ebony door.
"Ebony," Orion mused. "How ironic."
"It means something to you?"
Orion traced the pattern carved in the door. An exact match to that on his armour. "Most of life, centuries ago, involved this. Not to mention a more recent period that I prefer to try and forget."
With a snarl at the thought of the rape, Orion booted the the door off its hinges, stalking into the hazy, dimly lit chamber beyond.
Tony, following behind, gasped and cligned to Orion's back at the site of some twenty vampires within the room. It seemed like some hazy underground club, with vampires lounging on chairs here and there, involved in various illegal and sexual activities.
In one corner of the room, two male vampire were having there way with a naked and desperately unwilling woman, she trying her hardest to escape their grasp, effort in vain.
"What is this place?"
"It is known as a "Den'. In short, a place where vampires come to get high."
Tony frowned at Orion, before glancing around the room. "Those syringes...you get off on Heroin?"
Orion chuckled throatily. "Hardly. No, that woman you were staring at," Orion pointed to the corner with the two vampires and the struggling woman. "Watch."
And he did. He watched as one vampire collected a syringe from a small table nearby, injecting its contents into the woman.
"That dose of Heroin was massive," Orion informed him. "Now keep watching."
The woman quickly began to convulse in the other vampire's lap, foam beginning to ooze from the corner of her mouth. The vampire holding her suddenly opened his mouth, fangs extending, driving them into her skull, eyes rolling into the back of his head as he sucked something out of her brain.
"I don't understand?"
"Endorphines," Orion replied. "It is endorphines, produced in the brain, that gives a human the feeling of being high. You humans cannot farm it, for it would surely be the only drug available if you could. but we vampires, caring naught that the victim dies, can just suck it right out of your skulls. Given the nature of our bodies, the way our food enters directly into out blood stream, it takes little time for the endorphines to travel through our body to our own brain, giving the desired effect. It is the only drug capable of getting a vampire high, and is extremely addictive."
"I see...I think. Maybe."
"You humans rarely understand such things, so I am not surprised. However, do not be fooled by what you see here. This is all illusion. Now, the trick is discovering who is behind it. But then, I already know that."
"You do?"
A clapping sound could be heard suddenly, the vampire 'Den' setting disappearing, revealing a neatly furnished living room. Upon a black leather sofa, sat an old asian looking man, long grey fu-manchu beard almost making Tony laugh out loud.
"Ahhhh, moooost amuuusing," the old geezer cackled, springing up off the couch and shoving his face right into Tony's. "You fiiiind me suuuuch, hmmmmm?"
Tony suddenly had the feeling he had been thrust into one of those crazy japanese animations.
"Leave him, old man," Orion said with a chuckle, "And tell me why you return after so long."
The old man jumped around. "Alriiiighty, alriiight. Cooome, cooooome. Weeee, must eeeeat. Coooome."
Orion shook his head as the old man disappered into another room, motioning for Tony to lead the way.
With a lengthy, hesitant look at Orion, Tony shrugged, and followed after the old man, preparing himself for a long, long night.
((OOC: I am pretty sure Endorphines is the substance I am on about, but I could be wrong, will have to check...anyway, not that it is the end of the world, either way, they are taking a natural drug of sorts.))
