If only the first were true- but Brits get mistaken for Australians all the time, same as the other way around- seems Americans have difficulty with the difference there.

I don't understand that either. I'm an American but, to ME at least, Aussies and Brits have very different accents. I mean, their kind of the same, but different. That's the best way I can describe it. But, explain this to me. Aussies can notice the difference between a person from Australia and New Zealand. I cannot. 😕

Yeah, we can.

Its probably because you are French at heart ✅

know that's what I do when I travel abroad. Then, I have to spend five minutes explaining that I don't live in an igloo and keep a grizzly tied to the tree out front
nah only the yanks are ignorant enough to believe in that so the fact that you mention and igloo to explain Canadian gives you away as a yank 😉

"Australians: Drink anything with alcohol in it."

Canadians blame thier own governmnet on everything that going wrong even though the governmnet can't do anything about it.

HILARIOUS! it was obviously written by an australian OR american... most likely australian though

New Zealanders: Dislike being mistaken for Australians! furious

No people, New Zealand is not a part of Australia, we don't sound like them, and we don't have kangaroos or kaulas!!!!!!!!

I can't stress that enough! 😠

Americans' know nothing about New Zealand.

Yeah I'm with you Cat, they don't know much about us either. They think Steve Irwin is cool, when every Aussie on the damn planet hates him.

All of it is so bloody true, except we only pay tax for 2 channels, we get ITV and Channel4 for free!!! Wooo, its great 'cos i can imagine a lot of americans getting really pissy over it...

Not me though im british, Hail Sweeden...... where did tahat come from...

Tell me about it!

On a TV show they were talking about Kaulas in New Zealand. We don't HAVE Kaulas or Kangaroos in New Zealand!

Looks like Americans should do their research 😮‍💨

Yeah, no shit 😛

Why do you guys care about what Americans think about your country or our knowledge of your country's fauna? It really shouldn't make a difference.

I realize that their two entirely different countries and what not. But, I just can't tell the difference between the accents. I feel kind of bad about that two just because I'm one of those few Americans who actually hates it when people confuse things like that.

Oh, and trust me. NO ONE thinks that Steve Irwin is cool. At least not where I'm from.

Yeah, Irwin's a douche. He's the kind of guy where if he gets mauled by a bear or mutilated by an alligator, you have to think he had it coming.

Heheh. Yes, I must admit as an Australian I cringe when I hear people from overseas compare Irwin and the rest of Australia. (I still remember him before he made it big appearing on Agro's cartoon connection and being bitten by a snake. Classic, but not fatal) Still, it's nice to see Australians making it big in international entertainment...

lol 😆 that was pretty funny.
