2001 a Space Oddysey & 2010 an Oddysey 2

I have just read this and thought it was good. I really like how the auther portrayed the way the HAL 9000 went crazy. I have just started 2010 and it's pretty good so far.

Try getting hold of the short story (also by AC Clarke) "The Sentinel..." this was the short that inspired the whole thing....

Big gay kirk, good recomendation in fact. perhaps both of you would like "Rama" written by the same author, run as soon as you see the rest of the saga (almost pure b·"$%iht.)

2001 "the movie" is ..., well you shold have seen it so I can't add nothing more. At the book, the first minutes of the movie are explained in a even more detailed way.

The parody at the simpsons (when he go to the space along with the ants) with Homer "docking" with a chip is memorable.

Rendezvous with Rama.... one of the best alien contact novels ever... pity about the sequels.... greg bear attempted to update it with Eon.... just remember.... the Ramans do everything in threes.....

I just saw the movie.... to boring. Dont get me wrong it was Ok it was just to slow.

So is the book 2001 a Space Odyssey any better then the movie? I remember the movie being pure crap and one of the worst endings I've ever seen.
