Do you have any idea how brainwashed many of those people were? Unless they actually knew of the Holocaust which is very doubtful cause then they would have most likely been executed at Nuremberg they did nothing wrong but fight for an ideal they believed was right.

Yes now its easy for us to say they were wrong, but now that is history and for them it was the present. Many now blame American troops for what they are doing in Iraq, and many don't.. Who is right? History will tell. Thats how it was back then too. Allies and Soviets said they were wrong, Germans said they were right. Thats all that matters really. It was an opinion now its a fact that they were idiots, back then it was an opinion nothing more nothing less. If you are honestly blaming your grandparents for what they did then i really do think you need a history lesson because they were just brainwashed believing that what they did was for the greater good just like many troops in Iraq are now doing.

Just like many US soldiers did in Nam... History tells us if we are right or wrong.. When you do something because you believe in it, then at that time you are right. What matters is that if you are proven wrong if you see that your leaders were indeed murderous assholes you can admit to being wrong. That is all that matters, admitting you were wrong and apologising for it. But you can not blame them for doing what they believed was right.

Yes they believe that, thats why they do it. The germans believed that, wars are fought for believes. If Hitler would have won we would have blamed the English and Americans for fighting back...

Just saying that its all an opinion, and if there was anybody that managed to form opinions it was Hitler. When the rest wanted to debate he held emotional speeches, attacked his enemy's and used movies, radio airings and posters to get himself elected. He was the first to use it and it worked. You believed what he said.

And no you should not feel sorry for them, they did wrong things they were responsible nobody is denying that. But do not think they were bad people because of it, they did not realise that what they were doing was wrong. Very few people actually do something evil. They do what they believe is right.

and Im SURE they had heard of communist, democrats, yes they were al slaughtered and killed but they all knew what they standed for...
and even tho they might've realized it was wrong, they still did it, they were afraid, so they just killed whomever hitler said they would

And yes they were scared, scared of a lot of things... Most of all their own lives, disobeying Hitler meant Dead, everybody knew that. But lets stop this discussion now before we take up anymore of this thread, get into an endless circle...

I have always been shutout. No one will let me speak my mind. I believe that Bush doesn't =Hitler. I bet you if you were in my shoes you would not last on day in my LIFE. Just because of my life I almost committed suicide, but I knew if I did that I'll never be able to finish High school,get married,have kids,etc. So that is why I put my Replay's in bold face.

I think everyone here agrees that bush is a terrible president but obviously he's not hitler

And they saw communism causing even more uproars....actually communism was the evilest thing for them anyway....

plus all the propaganda the upbringin ....no possibility to see a different view....and the threat for their life....well I don't think I could've spoken up

About the Italians, actually i'm not sure... I'd assume they would be killed or enslaved because they aren't Aryans but i really don't know for sure...

Aryans didn't have to blonde and blue eyed. The basis of being an aryan was descent from the nordic bloodlines. that's why Hitler wasn't a hypocrit in that respect.

As for teh rumor of him being Jewish, it has some validity. His home village in Austria was levelled and used as a target range by the German military. So, if he didn't have something to hide, why would he level his own hometown, destroy all records of his heritage and annihilate every tombstone in the village cemetary...including his fathers?

My father was first generation American. His mothers entire family were members of the Nazi Party. My father had an uncle in the SS. I don't feel ashamed of them, I find it to be an interesting aspect of my herritage. Does herritage have two 'r's?
