Well, I believe it would interfer with Daisuke's and Riku's relationship. He would have to admit that he is Dark. And until he can tell her himself I doubt Dark will go away. I think it has to be Daisuke that gets her to accept it. Even if she does accept Dark before then...she wouldn't know the truth...I'm rambling.

In the end what I'm trying to say is that if Dark got Riku to accept him before Daisuke does, then it would ruin the trust they have between eachother. Thus..perhaps even ruining the relationship.

OI! I'm still rambling. That's my theory anyway...lame as it is 🙁 *Sigh*

tokyopop has a summary up for 10. it sounds like dark really does fall for risa.....

When Risa and Dark--who's actually Wiz in disguise--go to a popular new horror movie, Wiz is nearly scared to death! Meanwhile, Riku and Daisuke are enjoying their time alone, although Daisuke's trying not to have too good of a time, lest he change into Dark and blow the whole thing. Later, Risa expresses her unconditional love for Dark, who hints that he may not be everything he seems.

Yeah, and what's better is that I also read somewhere (in Anime Insider) that the author does plan to continue the story. So its not really finished at book 10!! Isn't that good news...Or did you already know that? 🙁

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE
D.N. ANGEL: THE MANGA VS THE ANIME

On the surface, Daisuke Niwa is an ordinary 14-year old kid. Unfortunately, Daiskue happens to be heir to a family curse, so whenever he sees or thinks about the girl he loves, he transforms into the phantom art their, Dark Mousy!
Though the prmise is the same, the anme version (From ADV Films) reimagines the manga (From TOKYOPOP) in some fascinating ways.

IT'S CALLED FORSHADOWING
The very first scene in the first episode of the anime depicts the epic conflict between Dark and his nemesis, Krad. The manga, conversely, does not introduce or allude to Krad at all until volume four and otherwise reveals his antagonistic relationship with Dark at a much more leisurely pace.

WHERE IN THE WORLD
The names of the characters are Japanese. The name of the town they live in, Azumanocho, is also Japanese. Yet the world of D.N.Angel doesn't look much like Japan! In the manga the backgrounds are not drawn in any great detail, though the architecture alludes to a less than Japanese setting. On the other hand, the anime is set in a lush and fully rendered elegant European town loosely based on Italian and Frech locales.

EXCHANGED STUDENT
Episode 14 of the anime debuts Mio, a mysterious female exchange student to Azumano Middle School. Though designed by the orginal manga artists Yukiru Sugisaki, Mio is a character created exclusively for the anime. She does not appear anywhere in the manga. Is this Mio friend or foe? What part has she been given to play? You'll have to see the anime to find out!

END OVER END
After 26 episodes, the anime has finished, but the manga has not. Sugisaki has not yet given up on D.N. Angel, which stands currently at 10 volumes and has been on hiatus since January 2005. What is to become of Daisuke and Dark, Risk and Riku? Who is the enigmatic Argentinian, and what does he inted for Dark and Krad? The anime doesn't answer these questions, so we'll all have to hold our breath until the manga does!

my dad is still hesistating on whether to let me buy the anime or not. if it's too different from the manga i'm not sure if i want it.

I like the anime a lot. Its different, but that is kind of refreshing...lol
