Confused about GOF

Hey Ya'll I have a question and i was wondering if some one could answer it. I was re-reading the fourth book and in the beginning of it it says that all three of the Riddles were dead in the Riddle House. It said that Tom was dead but Tom is suppose to be Voldemort so how can he be dead when he's alive?? I hope that some one can help me cause i'm really confused. 😕

Tom is Voldermort, but Voldermort was named after his father. The Tom Riddle that was killed in that chapter was Voldermorts father and grandparents.
