here is an artical peace saying about the ratings its very intresting -
In the US, a PG-13 rating means parents are strongly cautioned that some of the material is unsuitable for those under 13. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has given the film’s trailer a PG rating. However, they have yet to be sent the full work, and violent scenes make it possible that it could receive a 12A or 15 rating.
Sue Clark, of the BBFC, said: "You cannot say from the trailer rating what the film will get. It is not unheard of for a film that gets a PG-13 rating in the US to get a 15 rating here. We do not consider the US rating before classifying it ourselves. But if it got a 12A rating, that would not stop young fans seeing it, provided that they were accompanied by an adult."
Mark Brownrigg, a lecturer in film and media studies at the University of Stirling, felt the classification the film gets would have no effect on its box-office sales. "It will stand or fall in terms of the quality and not the rating," he said. "The key is getting people to watch it more than once at the cinema. If that happens, Mr Lucas will have a massive hit on his hands.
"There was a mixed reception from fans to the last two episodes. Now he may well have reckoned that the core of his fan base has grown up, and so has decided to target the adult market."
It is true that things are cut out--- Im from Scotland, and when I went over to Belgium and watched AOTC, I noticed the things that were cut out! I already knew that a head-butt was cut out from the Obi-Wan vs Jango scene-- I had heard about it before the film was released on cinema--- so that didnt surprise me. But there was also a point where Obi-Wan really brutally kicks Jango in the head--- That was NOT in it--- and Ive checked it since I got here---- plus the scene where Padmé recovers from falling out the ship is slightly different also. But British sensors do that--- anything to do with suffering etc-- usually get moaned at--- so probably Lucas was told to either cut it for the British version-- or suffer with a higher certificate
I cant see any swearing, Lucas wouldnt go that far, plus I really cant imagine Palpatine shouting something like "Die you m***********s!!" lol
I think it will get a 12A here, and its the cruelty and suffering that will award it this certificate. For some reason British sensors are really sour on those kinda things
