1000 mile sprint

if we were to exclude superman its pietro. even tho his character has gotten up grades and downgrades over the years he's still pretty quick. back in the 80s he was listed as 175mph, in the early-mid 90s 175-300. then in the late 90s just before the ultimate universe was created and all the other resurrections and new creations of Marvel(Uncanny, NewXmen Avengers, Xtreme-Xmen and Astonishing Xmen) he got some chemcial enchancemnt from the High Evolutionary(isotope E) that made his upper limits of speed unkown(marvel handbook) yeah leave up to those bastards at marvel to be all cryptic and mysterrious.

now i think his top speed is somewhere between mach10-15, but his cruising speed is somewhat lower than that. for in the final battle when magneto was taking over new york and killing everybdoy he ran across the ocean in a few mintues, also in Marvel 1602 he yet again ran across the ocean from one country to another, and in Avengers Disassembled when wanda just went berserk and was tearing up everybody who has ever been a member of the avengers....ever. he wasnt there(a magical doppelganger was but he was vactioning somewhere), but when he heard the news he ran from hawaii i think it was(not sure) and he commented that he just got the news. then when they told him what happened, he just left all emotional and shit and by the time somebody tried to call him back iron man was like .."he's no longer in the city." so if he can get out of an entire city b4 someone can get a sentence off he must be pretty quick.

Northstar however, is no slouch he is listed as having hyper sonic speed.hyper sonic by definition is mach 5 and over so at the very least he's mach 5. tho ive seen him move and leave after images so at the end of the day current pietro vs him would result in pietro by a little bit

Superman for some reason doesn't have access to the speed force so he doesn't have some magic aura that allows him to run at light speed in earths atmosphere. 1. it may be too much friction for him and 2. it would cause a catastorphe. He can probably do mach 10 on earth and light speed in space. So I say it would be a tie between him and pietro.

I mean catastorphe like setting our atmospher on fire.

That would suck. Speedsters like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter only go at top speeds in space or in the upper atmosphere. Anywhere near the ground. and the proverbial sh#% would hit the fan.

Supes wins easy. Hes not as fast as Flash, but hes not far behind. Hed win the race and be home in time for pancakes and eggs. im not sure who is faster between Northstar and Quicksliver, so second place is a toss-up to me.

Flash is waaaaaaaaaaay faster than Kal-el..at least 10 faster.

Lol youre right. But in the comic world, hes the closest one. Thats why i say that. 10x faster isnt that much faster when dealing with speeds of light. Wally is on a whole other lvl by himself. Its best not to compare.

i remember reading somewhere that quicksilver can go to the fastest as mach 15- don't know ig this is true but he is way faster than he was. he's gotten like two up-grades since he first began. i think i read it on an avengers site

Superman isn't connected to the Speed Force because his speed is "natural"

yes supes speed is due to his sheer muscular locomotion. in JLA "20-something" forgot the precise issue supes was going all over the world to give the other Leaguers christmas gifts, anyway when he coaghut up to flash wally made mention that he was going to get some special chocolate? "or some food item" that his girl really liked that could only be found in San Francisco. anyway along the way flash had one of those thought bubbles over his head and he commented that he is very amazed by the fact that supes was running with sheer muscle power, and then he said something to the effect of "...yeah i could take away his speed but that would send him crashing at 2000 miles per second from here to russia" so to me that means he was going at that speed to begin with. 2000mps=120,000miles per minute=7,200,000mph

i really hope this settes it that supes can move that fast in earth's atmosphere, meaning that its not folly when pl deabte that he can achieve 90% the speed of light in space.(ppl meaning me) 😄

If he has some mode of accelartion then there is nothing stopping him from accelerating to the speed of light. accelartion compounds in space, each boost making you faster. Even a very small amount of accelaration would eventually get you to the speed of light. Current human technology could do it in about a year. That's why space probes actually make it to other planets in out lifetime.

If Superman is so fast on earth with gravity and all how fast can he fly in open space I wonder. I have heard he can fly at 80% and that he can exceed it.
