I think we're saying two different things here...some ppl think that the "prince" won't be a prince as in, he doesn't really have to be royalty, theres some other characteristic that defines him as a prince (I agree w/ this part! 🙂)...and others are saying he will be a memory, a ghost, something of that nature. (I think thats where BingaBonga was coming from?)

ps. hasnt JK has stated that the Half blood Prince is a brand new
character someone that we have not met before. As such speculating
about which existing character it is is pointless. I recon its probably
going to be a humonoid of some kind as oposed to a ghost, spirit or
creature.

A lord is just someone with high power, and Voldermort has, well had a lot of power. He was feared by his own inner circle and they pretty much worshiped him because they were scared of him. 😬
