that defeats the purpose of being a real mc. real mc's should discover their own style, not allow other mc's to point them to different directions of how they should elevate their game.

I don't think that defeats the purpose. Jay is just trying to help out the young mc's that's what I think.
He's not saying they have to be exactly like him, it's more like he is giving them a platform you know?
