Most stereotypes are true. If they weren't then why would they even be stereotypes? Because every person see's most of a certain type of people a certain way. Of course this doesn't mean there aren't exceptions to stereotypes. If a person says "all of these types of people are this way" then that of course doesn't mean ALL. They just mean the vast majority, which is usually what a stereotype is.
Most goths I've seen are indeed sad and often flaunting their shallow forced depression. Of course not all are this way, but most certainly are.
Most women do love shopping.
These are just a few examples of stereotypes that are usually true. Like it or not, that's how it is.
a big part of why stereotypes continue is because the 'victims' of stereotypes tend to use reverse or alternate stereotypes to deflect attention away from themselves, rather than to form conclusive comprehensive arguments against the stereotypical label they are branded with...
like, for example, if Evy O had defended her last statement thusly:
'I dont believe in the stereotype "women are not good drivers".. I mean we all know old people are horrible drivers, but not women!'...
But, seeing as how Evy O did NOT stoop to such an argument, I believe there is hope for all that stereotyping can be overcome!
😄 Evy rocks! (not a stereotype of all things Evy-related, just a general statement in this one particular case...) 🙂
well you cant really beleive in steryotypes, its not something you beleive in, its just sort of what yo picture. but it's always half an half, like the dorks at our school are so steryotypical, but the popular ppl arent, u know how on movies pop. ppl r so up themselves, and so bitchy, but im in tha pop group and were not at all!
Do you believe that every goth is constantly sad and satanistic? No, I have a goth friend and she is not constantly sad.
That every football player/cheerleader has a ball/lipgloss instead of a brain? No 😖
That every politician will just make it worse? No 😖
That every Aussie talks like "g'day, mate, bloody hell" all the time? No 😖
That every woman LOVES to go shopping? NOOOO 😖
That every man can't live without TV and beer? Noo 😖
That Irish are always drunk? Nooo 😖

Funny... but SO true 😉
I dont sterotype people simpy because is just not me to do things like that. i know I said some things in the past that were very stereotypical but that was just my reactions. my husband usualy gets stereotypical. Thats because he works with hispanics alot. i think that people become stereotypical when they daily life involves a certain culture.
