Haha, we should make an Anti-Non-James-Cameron-Terminator-Movies thread.

😆

Why does everyone hate T3???

Hey I'm new here, but I just want to know, why does everyone hate T3 so much? I know its not as good as T2 and it has a different director but I think it is still a good sequel.

hi. welcome to the forums. like your user name. i also said that, why does every1 hate t3, i had faith in it. but just recently it was announced that none of the t3 cast will be returning for t4 and that there will be a different director, and a different storyline. that made me thinking, why the hell did they even do t3 if they were gonna screw up like this. clearly there has been a brawl between mario kassar and jonathan mostow, and now terminator franchise is nothing but a wreck.
t3 to be honest, when it came out, i was blown away by it, because it had a decent storyline and a nice ending, an ending which i still like. but hey, it doesnt even seem like that ending is of any relevence judging by what we are hearing from the rumors of t4 so far. while terminator3 was not in the league of the first 2 movies it was still a good movie, but c'mon is that what we want from a terminator movie? no way. we want it to set landmarks, be remembered as a great movie, unfortunately t3 could not pull it off simply because the director of this movie was just a fan trying to fullfill his dreams by directing t3, the dialogues of the movie were somewhat cheesy, the action was good, but not intense, but i must admit that t3 has made me a bigger fan of terminator. I just hope that t4 pulls off something nice, but i am still angry at what the producers were thinking when they made t3 if they were gonna set up t4 like this. it doesnt make much sense

I actually think that T3 was the best movie out of the series.

Hey man before I joined, I rerad alot of your posts and they are very good, you are a true fan.

I agree that if the cast is not returning for a fourth film they should have not left the door open for a sequel, however I did love the T3.

It was impossible for the film to be as good as T1 and T2 because they were directed by the writer, but Mostow I think did a very good job at the end of the day.

Why does everyone like the first terminator so much???

thanks for the compliment skynet. i do agree mostow did a good job overall, because it takes a lot of courage to make a sequal to a franchise which had a respectable ending to it. Although i know the story was completed at t2, i always wanted a sequel. just out of sheer curiosity on how it would turn out. but somethings i still cant figure out, either mario kassar just dumped mostow, or mostow has run away from the whole terminator project because he feared that he might lose his career in directing t4. that is why i question his skills right now, why did he have to do this? he left the storyline so open, an ending which promised so much. only now that we have known that a new storyline will revolve around kyle reese. I was really expecting mostow to explain how kate brewster and john connor plan their strategy in the fallout shelter. we wont get to see any of that, instead what we will probably see is a skip of 20 years without much knowledge of what happened, and FURTHER plotholes. now, lets be honest, t3 has really made a totally screwed timeline, with immense plotholes, i know the risks of a time-machine movie, but like i said, i was expecting mostow to explain these timelines in t4. i liked t3 a lot, i loved it, till the recent news surfaced.
but lol some factor might be that these days t3 is on everyday on that hbo channel, so maybe i am just crazy of seeing it too much.

stingray005: the whole wonderfull storyline of the terminator movies was started in " the terminator". how sweet and unique is an idea that in the future the machines will rule us, and one human still will lead the humans to victory, and the machines are trying to prevent it from happening by sending a machine back in time. meanwhile the humans do the same thing, creating an intense movie. For me, the terminator is the most intense movie i have ever seen. James Cameron just had nightmares about machines, and being a wonderfull thinker, he made a whole storyline out of it, and a whole movie. and the whole struggle of making the first movie was awesome, they barely had any money, specia effects were limited, and out of all things can u believe that "lance henrikson" was originally cast to be the terminator. boy, talk about a miss-match lol, i am glad that didnt happen. but my point is, " the terminator" was just so unique when it came. it really inspires me. hope you get my point🙂

Welcome to the forums Skynet 0.2 and stingray 🙂

And I agree with everything alic just explained and stated about the Terminator franchise. He has some very good points there.

Alic is right about T1, if you try to 'pretend' that T2 never arrived, then T1 would easily be one of the highest ranked sci-fi flims in cinematic history. The only thing is, T2 bettered it.

T2 is a great example of what a sequel should be.

Exactly, it improved on every aspect of the original.

This is where T3 fell short, it was a step lower on every aspect.

i didnt really expect t3 to out-do t2. i had low expectations when i was gonna see it, but when i saw the trailer for t3 i was very shocked, it didnt have the feel of a terminator movie, especially SHE'LL BE BACK. but there was 1 thing which i miss-understood about the trailer which had me thinking how the movie would turn out. i dont know if its just me, but in the trailer of t3 there is a scene in which it looks like a lot of endo-skeletons have come back in time to the present, so i was always curious as to how so many endo-skeletons got back into time, and what was their purpose. i guess it was just the effect of the trailer lol. anyways t3 is the 1 movie in my life that i most looked forward to, the anticipation killed me, i would count the days

That was me for Matrix Reloaded, i was practically jumping up and down with hype.

It didn't have any emotion like the second.

Especially the ending of T2, emotions were really riding high there.

And to think - one uk movie magazine recently listed the "thumbs up" bit from the end of T2 as one of the 50 cheesiest movie moments of all time. That's just not on 😠 ...

That person clearly didn't know what he was talking about. 😠

Damn straight. *Sniff* "I know now why you cry, though it is something I can never do ..." *Sniff*

Saying that it was cheesy was going overboard, IMHO. Have they no hearts???
