so they suck, which means that the mass majority of the teams in the country who are worse than them are what just all pathetic? How can you have a winning record, be nationally ranked, and suck? Duke is also a couple of shots away from having an extra 2-3 wins even in their losses they are all close games. I am sorry but you if you honestly believe that they are a bad team you either know nothing about basketball or you just are a duke hater.

They have the #4 strength of schedule in the NATION and a top 11 I believe RPI. Oh and 4-2 against top 25 and THIRTEEN games above .500 with the youngest team K has ever had. When all that equals to sucking that means almost no one is good and the vast majority would have to be I dunno the worst teams ever?
Duke has built the best college basketball program in the nation, even when there "bad", they're still ranked, they're still beating ranked teams, and they'll still be a team noone wants to draw in the tournament. Now picture this team in a year or two with more experience, more leadership, and more depth.
in a year or two they are good, as of now i still say they are overrated. if you watch their games they get the majority of the calls, and ill admit i guess im a little bias but only cuz they always get the calls. personally i have nothing against them, they just are not that good this year. unc, wisconsin, ohio state, and florida especially would kill duke. unc didnt kill them however refs, and unc not having a great game all add up. paulus is pretty good and probably the best duke has. mcroberts is always talked about but he hasnt showed me anything special.
it was so funny in the tech game when they said "look at mcroberts take it down the floor" well it was a fast-break and he tried to go behind his back and lost it horribly. it was so funny, they always talk about them like they are the best, when they are nowhere near the best.
Paulus is not the best duke has. McRoberts is far and away the top player right now. He even has the best assist/turnover ratio on the team. He averages almost as many assists as paulus, more points, obviously more boards and blocks. And beyond all of that his ability to run the floor and break the press with his ball handling skills makes him unique. Paulus is 3rd in importance I think. Nelson and McRoberts are the key parts.
Scheyer is a kid who could be the big time star though. He has the weight of the world on him coming in to take the spot of JJ Redick. JJ left a crazy standard but Scheyer has a lot of potential. Through the years JJ had to learn to create a shot, drive, and move with out the ball. Scheyer can do these things as a freshman better than JJ could as a freshman, he just n

I would rate Paulus as the number one player on Duke. McRoberts is too inconsitent to be rated number one imo, and he gets in alot of foul trouble when playing talented big men(UNC for example). Paulus runs the offense very well, he gets everyone involved, and he can hit the big shots, plus his man to man is very good.
I don't know if you can compare Scheyer to Redick just yet, Scheyer
does have the potential to be great, but as a freshman he has to do more than Redick had to do, Redick had Boozer, Dunleavy, Williams, Duhan so his role was pretty much 3 pointers, with Sheyer, Duke doesn't have as much offense as Redick did so his offensive role is much bigger than Redicks was.
True, the top 4 in the nation should be able to beat anyone, but that's hardly the case, espicially in the big dance.

I dont know about Paulus's ability to hit the big shot he has missed 2 shots that would win games this year. And he has had some turn over issues. He is becoming a better scorer though and getting better as the year goes on but I just think if they lost him for the year or lost McRoberts for the year... it would be worse without McRoberts.
Yea I wasnt comparing him directly to JJ I was saying thats what most people expect him to become though. JJ was just a pure shooter at first and had to learn to become a "scorer" Scheyer already has to be an all around scorer and needs to be a big part of what goes on.
The one really promising thing is the depth though. They are actually going 9 deep this year so beyond being very young which leads time to grow they have a lot of people getting involved who are all young, this bodes very well for the future.
Oh yea and they have the #3 ranked recruiting class in the nation for next season, including to big forwards (6-7 and 6-8) who can both play on the perimiter well, and a versatile combo-guard.
