CHICO, Calif. (AP) — California State University in Chico suspended a fraternity after members admitted they participated in an adult film.

The national chapter of Phi Kappa Tau also suspended the school chapter and is investigating the taping several months ago by Shane’s World, an adult film producer known for using college students in its videos. The company generally provides the female porn stars for the films.

Rick Rees, the university’s associate director of student activities, said the fraternity’s president apologized, admitting that “it was a bad decision.”

The school’s fraternity system is already under investigation after a student died in February from drinking a large amount of water. The victim allegedly was being hazed by members of a fraternity that had already lost its school affiliation.

Four members of the Chi Tau fraternity have been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Matthew Carrington, and four other members face lesser charges.

University President Paul Zingg told the Los Angeles Times that Carrington’s death was “the last straw” and that if the Chico fraternity system was found to be beyond repair, he would shut it down.

While attending University I never had the urge to join a fraternity. I find them to be filled with non-thinking lemmings that generally lack a complete personality when isolated.

I often shake my head when these hammer's get in trouble for their severe lack of judgement. I think the time for these things is over. Grow up, move on, think for yourself.

i dont think its fair that male students of a legal age get suspended for being in an adult movie. there are tons of female students who strip to be able to afford collage, why not suspend them? discrimination

it's bad rep for the institution. they don't care what happens to that kid, the school just don't want their reputaion tainted.

Fratenitys will always be around.

And I wouldn't knock them. Nearly 70% of Forbes Richest were in a fratenity or sorotity. These organizations lead to better opportunities.

that still means any girl who is known to work as a stripper to pay for her education should be suspended/expelled, they are doing as much damage to the schools reputation as some guy being in a porn flick

No, I played football and was pretty popular, but felt no need to join a homo erotic organization like a fraternity where people are your friends cause the have to be instead of cause they wanna be.

Fraternities are pretty homoerotic. Communal showers...soapdowns....near-nude wrestling.

the only difference between what happens normally in the frat houses and what happend to lead to suspension is that there was a camcorder involved

Well if you believe that fine, but if I were you I'd stay away from any cookies or marshmellows that you might find in the frat houses that you frequent.
