The Liberty Titan began to rise from the Corellian starport. It wasn’t long before Brutus was flying above the planet and inputting the coordinates for Yavin 4. As he was doing this, he was interrupted via comlink…
“*Static*-ey Brut- *static* hows it goi- *static* -uddy?”
“Devo?!? I can’t hear you too well,” Brutus replied.
”Oka- *static*-ne second…”
It was Devo Ren, a childhood friend and probably the most important person in Brutus’s life. Devo could work almost any electronic, droid or weapon and probably could fix it and make it better in the process. Geek or nerd was the correct term for him, but Brutus still loved him like a brother for Devo was needed.
“Better?”
“Much. Why did you contact me?”
“Well I have some important news on the jedi academies,” he said.
“Yes?” Brutus asked.
“It has only been 5 years since Vader has died, but yet we keep the jedi academies as a secret. So I overheard a conversation yesterday at the cantina as I fixed the cleaning droid. We all know Luke’s going academy crazy, because he’s building so many, but I heard they are building one on Tiglath, or there might be one there already. I don’t know.”
Brutus pondered. It was true that Yavin 4 was a disgusting, ugly planet, full of scary creatures, so he quickly decided. Tiglath then Yavin 4. Brutus began to type in the coordinates for Tiglath, when the voice bugged him again.
“Check the drawer by your bed in your cabin,” Devo said.
Getting up from his chair, Brutus turned and walked down to his cabin. There, he approached his drawer and opened it. He lifted up the item. A saber. Not just a saber, a double bladed saber. With excitement, he ran back to the cockpit and began to question Devo –
“How did you get this?!”
“Haha, I knew you’d like it. I studied a bit on how to make a saber, rather hard I’d say…They don’t want much people like me making one. I found the crystal off a merchant though. Blue if you didn’t know already, color of the jedi guardian, or at least I think. I’ve heard the stories thought, only a true jedi can make their saber better and stronger, so don’t think your ultimate just yet. I’ve also heard you can add certain crystals to make it better, but I don’t have the courage to go find you one,” Devo chuckled, “Another story is that double bladed are the hardest to learn, but cause massive chaos. So trend lightly.”
“Hey thanks again, really. You’ve done enough for me, I have too much to owe you, so cut it out!” Brutus replied with a grin.
“Hah it’s okay, I get bored and besides, I’m helping a jedi! Not many people get to do that you know. Besides, being friends with jedi is like free protection. Oh geez! I'm late! I have to go to work Brutus, if you need anything, like a question for making your saber better, just comlink me. Bye.”
As the comlink went silent, Brutus lifted up his new double bladed saber in front of him. His ship began to rumble, as he was entering hyperspace.
“Jedi Master Brutus…”
Tarc stared into the eye's of his boss, Daro the Hutt. He had promised him a shipment of spice three weeks ago.
"Tarc my boy... I suppose my shipment of spice is in the cargo hold of your ship?" Daro said looking back at his guards.
"As a matter of fact it is," Tarc said, his lip curling. Daro's facial expression turned to a surprised look."Let's go get it." Tarc stood up, and picked up his drink. He took a sip, and stood in front of Daro. He threw the glass into one of the guards eyes. Tarc turned, and ran for the entrance of the cantina, followed by blaster shots. Tarc took a sharp right turn out of the cantina, and pushed a Mon Calamarian out of his way. As Tarc ran, he searched his pockets for his blaster.
"Where the hell is it," He said, not finding it.
A guard caught up to Tarc, and pulled out a stun stick, just as they entered the trade district. Tarc dived under a table as the guard ran into it. Tarc stood up with a handful of sand. He threw it into his eyes. As the guard screamed in pain, the rest of the guards ran past him jumping over the table. Tarc pushed through a crowd of people, and turned into an alley full of boxes. He hid behind them as he watched the guards run by. Tarc stood up, and wiped the sand off of his jacket.
He walked out of the alley way, and started to walk towards the starport. Outside of the starport Tarc grabbed a burned frog like creature. The shop owner roared at him as he continued into the starport. He walked up to his ship, and saw the loading bay down. As he walked up the bay, blaster shots hit around him. Tarc crouched, as Brick walked down with his heavy repeating blasterrifle. He fired at the guards. The loading bay lifted up, and Tarc stood up. The ship started to slowly lift up into the air.
Tarc walked up to the flight deck.
"Where's my blaster?" Tarc questioned Ves.
"I don't know, ask the droid," Ves said turning to Tarc. The ship left the atmosphere of Tatooine. The ship began to rumble and shake violently.
"What was that?" Tarc asked.
"Hutt fighters 6 o'clock," Ves replied. Sparks flew everywhere as a Hutt fighter hit the hull of the ship.
"Get us out of here," Tarc yelled at Ves.
"I can't, we don't have enough time to put the hyperspace coordinates," Ves replied.
"Put something in at random," Tarc said, getting extremely nervous.
"But we could fly through a star, or get lost into unknown space," Ves said trying to convince Tarc.
"Either that or get blown up into a million pieces," Tarc said. Ves entered the hyperspace coordinates, and the ship shot off into hyperspace.
The ship was spiraling as it was hyperspacing to its destination. It wasn't a good feeling to Brutus, because his stomach was spinning. Before he threw up, he was on his feet and back turned away from the cockpit window. He shook his head and made his way down the corridor to the main room of his YT2400.
Beep beep beep.
Out came his seeker droid that was given to him by Devo for his 14th birthday. The droid was the only family he had left, besides Devo, but the droid was always with him and did anything to make Brutus happy. Although the droid seemed small and weak, his seeker packed a powerful stun that usually knocked out all of its opponents with one stun, thus getting the name Death Star by Brutus.
The droid began to spin around Brutus, almost examining him.
Beep beep boop.
"What do you mean I don't look ready to be a jedi?"
Beep boop beep beep beep.
"So your saying I should just head off to Yavin instead of Tiglath? Why?"
Beep beep beep beep.
"I've had lots of training, I'm sure if there is nothing I can't possibly take on."
Beep beep boop boop! Beeeep!
"There are no more sith, even if there was, why would they be on Tiglath?"
Beep beep boop beep.
"Your crazy droid."
Brutus walked to his couch and laid down on it. His eyes soon closed.
Beep beep.
"Just because Yavin is basically unpopulated doesn't mean dark jedi will know about the academy there."
Beep boop....
Brutus sighed.
"Yea..I guess your right...Yavin does seem safer...I mean I've never even seen Tiglath in my life!"
The droid still floated by Brutus as he laid still on the couch, eyes closed. After a few seconds, he felt the droid float away. Sleep quickly took him.
Brutus awoke and rose up from the couch. Chills ran down his spine. Ever since his parents died, Brutus had been alone for such a long time. He hated being alone, especially on his ship. When he approached the cockpit, everything was silent. The Liberty Titan floated quietly above Tiglath.
"I should of put Yavins coordinates before I slept..." Brutus thought, "But I'm already here..."
He looked down at the planet, it gave Brutus even more chills...
Tarc held on tightly to the pilot seat, hoping he did not hit a star. The Black Serpent pulled out of hyperspace, and the cockpit of the ship was facing nothing but space and stars.
"We made it," Ves said staring into space.
"Where are we?" Tarc said staring into the darkness.
"Can't tell right now.. All my monitors are still scrambled from the jump. "Annnnd we are attttt.... Tilgath... but where is it?" Ves asked. The ship rumbled, and started to turn to its side, and an orange flame appeared around the ship. Out of the corner of the ship, you could see the planet.
"Activate anything that will keep us up!" Tarc yelled.
"All of our engines and backup engines are down," Bel said running into the the cockpit.
"What? You said those engines would last another 2 months," Tarc roared at Bel.
"That was six months ago! And we weren't getting shot at!" Bel retorted.
"Ves... Just do what you can do to get us a happy ending O.K.?" Tarc said running to the engines.
Tarc was stopped by his RA-7 droid.
"Captain I took your blaster pistol for cleaning today," The droid said holding out his D15. Strapped around his back was his Tusken Rifle.
"Great... Just when I need it too," Tarc said pushing past the droid.
Bel stood by the engine with some type of drill.
"Tarc we need new engines," She said the drill pointing into the air.
"Well.. in case you haven't noticed, we aren't the richest people in the galaxy. We have to use an oldest version of the YT series, I got a Clone Wars pistol, and a half witted crew," Tarc replied, "Just uhh get em working K?" He turned and ran for the cockpit.
The ship started to burn apart, the parts falling out.
"When we get close to the trees, we'll try to pull up, and guide use the rest of this ship to land in a clear zone. If we live, we'll hope for rescue."
"I don't like the words try... and if.. just make it happen," Tarc ordered.
The ship started to do a nose dive, and the plating on the back side of the ship ripped off. Ves pulled back on the controls, and tried to lift the ship up. Suddenly the ship lifted, and skimmed along the trees. It lowered, and started to shatter the trees. With a sudden thud, the ship crashed along the ground, and the dirt flew into the air. The ship slowly came to a sudden stop.
Bright light caught Brutus's eye. A ship soared into the planet's atmosphere, causing fire to spark all around.
"DS, get over here!"
His seeker came from around the corner and quickly answered his call.
Beep boop.
"Anybody survive that crash?"
The droid floated there in place for a few seconds trying to detect any lifeforms. It was quite difficult for the poor droid to find out, they were so far from the crash site.
"Bah nevermind DS. Just find me the crashsite and lets get to it."
Beep beep.
Boop beep.
"Good, you found them both out. So 5 humans, 1 droid? Well...If their hostile, they wouldn't be too hard! Stay here DS. I'll return in a second, let me get into my robes."
This entire time, Brutus had been wearing tan cargo pants and a white shirt. It was the right moment to wear his robes. Well... They weren't truly his robes, they were his masters...
"Here, take my robes Brutus. Your big and old enough to wear them, and will need them more than I. These are the robes of a true jedi master. Wear them with pride, for many people will recognize the robes and either help you or try to hunt you...."
As he was going through his cabinet, he tried to forget his masters words. It brought more sorrow and anger to him...
"Today you will learn a new stance, Brutus. Vaapad. Its a powerful stance created by a powerful man. It harnesses your dark anger and hatred into a deadly weapon of light. Only 2 have truely mastered this stance, but with experience, it is just as great as mastering it..."
Brutus rubbed his eyes. His arms reached into the cabinet and pulled out the robes. Patiently he put on the robes and returned his casual wear to the cabinet. After retrieving his new saber, he walked back to the cockpit where the deathstar awaited him. Walking past the deathstar, Brutus sat down to the controls. He made his way towards the planets surface to find the survivors and the academy...
The bottom half of the Black Serpent was lodged in the dirt, vines, and trees. Tarc stumbled over the loading bay, and pressed the dim red button to lower it. The bay did not respond. Tarc continued to press the button, until he slammed his fist onto the button.
"Well.. We're not gettin out this way," He said turning to the cockpit. As he was walking a hand grabbed his leg. Tarc jumped in surprise to see his RA-7 droid fallen to the ground, one arm broken, and an eye hanging out. In his other hand was his D15 pistol. Tarc grabbed the blaster, and took the Tusken Rifle that wr hands up," Tarc said, trying to make his voice sound powerful.as strapped around his shoulder.
"Brick take care of RA-7.. and Crev what's everyone else's status report," Tarc said.
"Well.. Besides Bel's broken arm, and RA-7's little incident, not much has changed," Crev said flicking a shot, and sticking it into an unconscious Bel.
Tarc walked up to Ves. He pointed his blaster pistol at the window of the cockpit, and fired. The glass fell harmlessly to the ground.
"Alrighty everyone... out the window, Crev put a cast on Bel's arm, and Brick, put RA-7 on your back," Tarc said climbing out the window." And Ves get the emergency supplies."
"What emergency supplies?" Ves asked.
"I don't know just find something useful," Tarc said plopping on the ground. A rustle in a nearby bush caught Tarc's attention. He pointed his blaster pistol at the bush. It was a wild animal. A big one. Tarc put away his blaster and unstrapped his rifle. The big creature came running out of the bush. Tarc fired a shot at the creature, but missed.
"I'm always a badshot," Tarc said jumping out of the way of the creature. He fired another shot at it, and hit it in the back.
It turned around and roared at him. Tarc continued to fire at the creature, hitting and missing it. Brick grabbed his repeating rifle, and killed the creature in one shot.
"Nice shot....," Tarc said.
Terrible rumbling came from entering the atmosphere.
"What I'm I get myself into!"
The ship was unsteadily entering the planet. Now Brutus was afraid if he could land or not. When Brutus started to train with his master, he was only 12, and trained for 15 years before his masters incident. During the days off his master gave him to go out and explore corellia, he often went to Devo. Devo's father worked for the CEC, Corellian Engineering Corporation, creating ships that his father often flew and been on. Passing down what his father had taught him, he'd teach Brutus. Since his father also aided the Empire's efforts by telling them who bought what, Devo got easy access to Corellian space...
"We're going to fast! DS! Lower the speed, I'm a little busy!"
His droid, having trouble floating, got closer to the controls and used some of his mini droid arms to lower the ship's speed.
"Alright good, good, I see the crash site, landing a bit nearby!"
As the ship began to slow down, it became a bit easier to land for Brutus. Quickly, he released the landing gear. The ship landed with thud on the landing gear, scaring Brutus.
"Please don't break..." Brutus whispered.
The ship became more quiet by the moment until it was completely silent. Brutus got up from his seat and walked to the loading bay. He clicked the button on the wall to his right. The loading bay complied and lowered down into the grass.
"Which way?"
Beep.
His droid was floating behind him.
"Alright, lets go. Be careful DS."
They made there way through some bushes and grass until they saw the ship smoking from nearby. Once they entered the crashsite, they saw a dead creature and two men.
"Not a good site to see..." Brutus thought. He drew out his saber and ignited it.
"Friends or foes of the rebellion?" Brutus asked, saber turned sideways in front of him.
((Since no one told us what Tiglath looked like, and since it's not a real StarWars planet, I hope it's okay that we kind of made our own terrain. Something like Yavin and Endor, but I imagined Tiglath to be something like a Mexican plain - grassy, bushy, very sunny all the time, and trees that are spread out a big distance.))
[ Sign up here 😄 Darth Extecute posted a character sheet 🙂 ]
(( C.C, we're flyin' off to tiglath, and felt a huge weird nuther disturbance, and will be posting landing now, and meeting these guys. and you're with us. 😛
well on a side note guys, i say tiglath is a bit like yavin and endor, but some parts have wide open plains. what do you guys say?))
Jarren smoothly took the ship down. Everyone came out, and a few Jedi masters greeted them.
"Welcome, Master Kerej. Did you have a safe flight?" A female twi'lek greeted.
"Thank you, Master Geil. Yes we did have a smooth flight, nothing real interesting." Jarren turned to the students. "You could all explore for the moment. Me and Master Geil would talk about some things, and i would call you later. You do have your com-links, right? if you don't, there is a bunch in the small compartment in my quarters in the ship." He walked off with the twi'lek.
Jaeh pocketed her com-link, and hung her lightsaber on her belt. She decided to explore around outside. A mile from the academy, she found a ship, and another one which apparently, crashed, and some people talking....
[Ya, I think thats what my idea of Tiglath looks like, Yavin and Endor, but less spooky, more sunny =D ]
Brutus questioned the man, "Whats your name? Job? Affliation? Crew amount?..."
The man was a mess. Dirty. Unshaven. He was clearly going through a rough time. With Vader gone, and the Empire on the run, the man wouldn't be much of a threat of he was an Imperial.
"I'm sorry. It's rather hard for me to trust anyone, anymore. I'm Brutus, Jedi Master from Corell-" Brutus turned to his left, "Theres jedi over there. Ones coming. So if your not a fan of Jedi my good friend, then you should get moving," Brutus said.
"Heh.. Were are we supposed to go? My ships crashed in case you haven't noticed,"Tarc said." Name's Tarc. That right there is Brick. Inside of the ship is Ves, Bel, and Crev. We have no ties to any faction. We did work for Hutts... but as you can see by our ship.... It didn't work out."
"Jedi eh... thought you were all wiped out," Brick said surprised. He nudged at Tarc.
" You think the galaxy needs em?"
"Well... right now our ships crashed, most of us are injured, and they could kill us in a heart beat.. so yeah."
(eventually ima post as tyris too)
