Being a big Hellraiser fan, I'm ashamed to axe this, but does anyone know if the majority of the dialogue in the Hellraiser films originate in the book(s), or are they straight from Clive Barker?

the first chapter is worth reading again and again, but the film version of this story has much better dialogue and the actors give such splendid performances that it is unlikely I will ever want to read this book cover to cover again

i assume the dialogue is different slightly

As far as I know there is just one book the hellbound heart I liked it read the whole thing in one night. But it is different than the movie some of the same diologe i think. There also the graphic novels I have three of them some of the stories are good.

Your right. I did like pt 3 and 4 but I'll admit nothing beats part 1, and the even better part two. First two were better made, not budget wise because, Bloodline from what I can recall had a decent budget, but that 1 and two were so epic in scope. The direction was better and more focused. The characters made sense. Although Barker only intended the first one to be made, based on the novella The HellBound Heart, I think the second one let us in on the things that we always wondered about hell and how pinhead came to be and thats whats so cool about it. I do like the other ones( Pinheads entrance is what I'm always waiting for)but they just can't live up to the old ones. But f*uck it, I still love them. They just need to get the old musical score back into the pictures, just for the grand entrances of the centibites at least, I'll never get tired of hearing that music of pain.
Pinhead: Hell is much more orderly now, princess...and much less amusing. 😠
